This is the setup I use to record pollinators with GoPro cameras. The camera is fitted with GoPro's extended battery backpack. In the blue Pelican case is a 2700mAh lithium ion cell phone battery connected to an Adafruit solar lithium ion / polymer charger that is in turn connected to an Adafruit Mintyboost to boost the output voltage to the 5V required by the camera. The solar panel connects to the charger and charges the battery. This 3.4 watt 6V panel is soid by Voltaic Systems. Using this setup I can easily film for 12 hours on a sunny day.

First ride (wakeboarding) since the winter break with my GoPro in tow. Despite the slightly chilly water having fun and recording it is what i enjoy the most about photography. For those that dont know GoPro is an action camera that in this instance was attached to the front of my board. In photoshop i decided to use HDR toning then desaturate the image to capture the crispness of the water and dark clouds.
The GoPro would not turn on during the entire camping trip. Back home, I discovered the battery was depleted - despite my putting it on to charge for several hours before the trip. It was as if the battery had drained rather than charged. [Is such a thing possible??}
So, I missed some nice paddling videos ...but now that it's charged and working again, I have flower videos instead.
