I went to look for the chamois again today, and although they showed up they didn’t seem pleased that I had brought my mom along... they made a big show of giving warning calls and sprinting towards cover while not appearing particularly nervous. (They do remind me a bit of cats.) As I didn’t manage to capture their show very well I took a few flower shots instead...
Went to the flower show with my son and the twins Yesterday, they sell fish and supplies for the pond,
My son as an infant was always with fish, he called them Fishies...thus the tittle:-)
Happy Sunday!
This is Deadvlei in The Namib desert. The trees are petrified on the salt pans in the middle of the desert. It is an amazing sight. The people give it scale but I would love to have been alone there too.

Fjallabak Nature Reserve. - Ljótipollur Lake 20210717
Although it is nothing else, this beautiful maar or volcanic crater bears the name ugly as a name. Ljótipollur translated means ugly puddle or ugly pond. But most craters that have lakes inside them are exceptionally scenic and photogenic. Ljótipollur is no exception with its light, vegetated slopes, and visible lava layers on the rim. The maars are usually quite deep because the water originates in the groundwater below and they have no streams entering or leaving the lake, only underground. Most often craters with small lakes have this beautiful turquoise blue color that gives the crater an added value for photographers.

A plain, chunky bird with a “big mouth.” Found in foothill rainforest of western Ecuador and western Colombia. It’s mostly olive-brown with pale eyes and a stout bill. Forages at middle levels of the forest and may join mixed-species flocks. Sings incessantly early in the morning, giving loud whistles intermixed with scratchy twitters and squeaks. It can open its beak surprisingly wide while singing, giving the impression that it’s shouting. (eBird)

I've been going through my photo archive, updating names based on the latest taxonomy. As part of that work, I've come across photos that I've never processed or posted (usually because they were too grainy, fuzzy, etc.). New editing tools, though, have meant that a few will now see the light of day, like this one. Taken in the early hours of the morning by a less than perfect camera, it finally comes to light after some heavy duty editing.
Note: I had originally ID'd this bird as a South American Leaftosser (which is very similar to this). When I posted it on eBird, the reviewer got back to me almost immediately with a correction. Oh well, still a lifer and still the one and only time I've seen this bird.

The sound of the bass resonates like heartbeats, the trumpets and saxophones like howls of the soul.

I only went to play a little in the snow in the new year after recovering from the party on new years eve. I built a new boyfriend (Mr Snowman) and a little heart to give away ♥
my heart really only belongs to my little pumpkin, of course, but a back-up heart can't hurt - even if it's made of snow xD

from the storm...Outside on the windowsill during a cold, wet wintry day...I think it is a female finch? On the inside was Frodo snoozing on his perch-he never knew Lol!
Per Don Delaney, an expert, this is a female House Finch...Thanks, Don!

My magical forest
Gives me time to think
I can go for hours and barely meet anyone
Doing my thinking
I love my dwelling upon things
Rethinking
Am I on the correct path
Do I need some corrections
Do I still have old patterns that I fall into
Thinking they are mine
Yes
There is always the old way of doing things and I can only change them if I am aware of them

This beauty is not meant to be taken lightly. Give them to a loved one when you feel it most. “Give Them Freely”. You’ll receive love in return as love isn’t to be kept to oneself. Gratitude and Kindness are are rewards to be shared much like Love.
For the Macro Mondays Theme: Wrapping
Thank you very much for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated.
Happy Macro Mondays
Many people have sat or stood beside this tree over the years. It must have heard several stories from all over the world as people gathered at its roots. It reminds me somewhat of the book "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The tree gives to the people and to the park. I hope the people give back.
