My Gingerbread Houses is from Johanna's Christmas, A Festive Coloring Book by Johanna Basford, colored with Prismacolor Premier Verithin and Soft Core Colored Pencils and blended with light colored pencils.
One Christmas not so long ago, a smart boy and a smart girl set out to make Santa some cookies.
Girl:How about some sugar cookies for Santa?
Boy: You are kidding right? First of all we will be judged against millions of other plates of cookies and secondly, I am sure we are not his first stop so we need something that will be easy on his stomach.
Girl: I guess cookies are out then.
Boy: Silly girl. I have the perfect idea. Go to page 55 in the cookbook.
Girl: Oh, I see...gingerbread.
Boy: Let's make it into the shape of a boy so Santa will know it was my idea.
Girl: Haha, okay!
Merry Christmas!
Fill the house with festive cheer with •the most wonderful soft gingerbread cookies ever• !
I assembled this gingerbread house from IKEA. I used royal icing for the first time, and hence you can see the messiness. It was however a great project, unfortunately the house collapsed overnight, it became soggy. I really am not sure how to keep it fresh. So I wanted to click some more pics the next day, but this has already fallen by the time I did that.

Gingerbread (or in Norwegian, 'pepperkake') is a quintessential feature of the Norwegian holiday season. Minnesota, with its large Norwegian-American heritage, gets in on the fun, too! The Norway House in Minneapolis hosts their annual Gingerbread Wonderland. This year it has about 250 structures created by professional bakers as well as gingerbread enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. The rules are simple: the structure must be made of gingerbread, and all parts of the display (except for any fairy lights) must be edible.
gingerbread house pre inking. I think it looks better here - I'm still having trouble combining the ink and the color without them crowding each other out.

Gingerbread cookies made for a cookie exchange party. I was invited to this party and the invitation gave instructions to bring 3 dozen of your favorite cookie. The host had a beautiful holiday table for everyone to put their cookies on. After a beautiful light lunch the party host gave us each an empty tin tray (very cute holiday ones) and we went to the table and put 5 of each kind of cookie on our tray (since there were 7 people at the party). So you bring 3 dozen cookies, and you leave with the same number, but when you leave you have an assortment.
This gingerbread house was on display at the University Mall in Orem as part of their Christmas celebration.

I'm thinking of making another gingerbread house this year, so I dug up the photo of my first ever gingerbread house for some inspiration. This year's challenge will be to make one that can hold up against Singapore's humidity.
These were inspired by some custom labels (seen in this photo) . I really like the way they turned out. They remind me of old fashioned Christmas sweaters.
I'll be posting the Gingerbread recipe on my blog tomorrow, Glorious Treats

What if the Gingerbread boy ran off in a different direction and never met all the animals trying to eat him. What if he grew big and wandred around in the forrest untill he suddenly met a boy. Who would be running then?

Once upon a time, a grandmother was baking for Christmas. With the leftover dough, she made the shape of a gingerbread man. She placed chocolate for the eyes and a bit of licorice for the mustache. She placed the gingerbread man into the oven and went about her work.
When she returned to the oven, she opened the door and to her surprise, the gingerbread man leapt off the pan and ran to the door shouting, "Run, Run! As fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
This MOC is my entry into the Fairy Tale Category of the 2020 Colossal Castle Contest (CCC XVIII).
The gingerbread man is at the normal minifigure scale, while the grandmother and oven are at miniland scale. I used a red light brick for the glow of the fire in the oven.
A gingerbread house is a confectionery shaped like a building that is made of cookie dough, cut and baked into appropriate components like walls and roofing. These houses, covered with a variety of candies and icing, are popular Christmas decorations.

We had a little mother/daughter gingerbread house decorating party at our house this weekend. Everyone brought their own gingerbread house kit (from the store), and I had icing already made and lots of extra candies to decorate with. Of course we needed to have some little goodies to eat at the party too, so I made these gingerbread people, along with several other treats.

The impossible made possible! The Christmas atmosphere appeared even on Tatooine. All residents regardless of race, profession and past, started to help during the renovation process of Gingerbread House! The task is hard but they are hoping to get their job done before Christmas! Let's give them some support and keep our fingers crossed for their success :)
Enjoy the photo!
