The often overexposed and digitally manipulated photography of Matias Masucci.
These were taken in October of 2014 at Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest and Balch Park in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains. Mountain Home Grove is a grove of giant sequoias south of the more popular Sequoia National Park. It includes trees such as the Adam tree, the 20th biggest tree in the world, and the Hercules Tree, a giant sequoia with a room carved out of its trunk.

Picea sitchensis, the Sitka spruce, is a large, coniferous, evergreen tree growing to almost 100 m (330 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter at breast height that can exceed 5 m (16 ft). It is by far the largest species of spruce and the fifth-largest conifer in the world (behind giant sequoia, coast redwood, kauri, and western redcedar); and the third-tallest conifer species (after coast redwood and coast Douglas fir). The Sitka spruce is one of the few species documented to exceed 300 ft (90 m) in height.
