On an incredibly moody afternoon, L516 heads back toward Kirk Yard having completed their work at Griffith. As if it were 15 years ago, two EJ&E SD38s are the power.

Not quite ooky but still kinda spooky…

Happy almost Halloween & Happy Shocktober! 👻

In the Historic Stockyards District of Fort Worth, Texas, the ghostly remnants of a brick street emerge through the waters left by a recent downpour, creating a hauntingly beautiful tableau.

The male northern harrier also found the 6-plus goose carcasses on Lower Hoffman Lake, which very obviously died of bird flu, which is very prevalent here in northern Colorado.

This was the clearest Zodical Light I have seen, easily visible to the eye. Astronomical twilight has finished and the horizon is lightening with the approaching sunrise.Taken just outside Hawker, South Australia.

The unbelievable Jökulsárlón in Iceland. Just mind blowing!!

Moore Hall was burned by the IRA during the civil war, but not, reportedly, before all the neighbours 'saved' the furniture, which I'm told still grace the living rooms of some local houses. I set up a torch in the entrance hall, illuminating the centre of the manor and giving the place a ghostly appearance for this time exposure. County Mayo, Ireland.

Foster City is a city made on landfill in the San Francisco Bay Area. After dinner I went there for night shots. A person in bright clothing walked by in this long exposure, creating a ghostly encounter.

I processed a balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

If we are ever allowed out again, I might be able to get some more drone shots! (jokes) not restricted at the moment, but just this persistent rain has really dampened any hope of getting out anywhere, Roads and Rail lines closed all over the place, and the weather is just so dreary. We are getting about 1-3 sunny days per month at the moment, with the current forecast predicting the same for at least another 4 weeks.

Its not often I see any body when I am out and about in the woodlands, but this guy popped up out of nowhere. Was a friendly bloke but did warn me it was best to leave as around seven hunters where about to have a nice shoot up. Typical luck for me, get fog at long last and you get told to move on.

POLAROID WEEK AUTUMN 2025: DAY 6

“A heavy mist enveloped Dartmoor, and from Combestone Tor the great earth ridges swept southerly away all smothered in vapour. Below the broken rock-piles of the tor a steep hill fell sharply, and here nothing but a foxglove or two and a withered white-thorn rose stark against the dim wall of moving mist behind them. In varying densities it floated, and sometimes it was suddenly rent and parted like a ragged veil, to reveal the gorges of Dart beneath Combestone and the neighbouring hills beyond. The world visible at these moments was dimmed to delicate jade; it appeared and vanished at the freak of the mist; and now the crowns of Yar and Sharp and Bel limned ghostly out of the welter and now again they vanished, while lower slopes were revealed. The wind dealt similarly with sound, for the cry of Dart rose up fitfully through it, and came and went, now clear, now hushed by the lull and lift of the breezes.

Beside the tor, where stood its squat and weathered piles with fingers and filaments of vapour stealing among them, there browsed a sheep or two and a shaggy mare with a little mouse-coloured foal. The infant thing squeaked and galloped hither and thither, then it sucked and presently lay down to sleep. The grey air rang and rippled with lark music, and one might have heard four separate songs tinkling together up, up, into the aerial place. Then came also another sound from the hidden Moor a strange, intermittent growl, as of some gigantic animal busy there. The muffled noise persisted, but its cause was hidden.”
