50 second long exposure at the local lake. The fog was very thick in the morning. Couldn't see a bloody thing.

One of my attempts at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "Mad about Mats".
Shot with a (Tomioka) "Auto-Yashinon 5 cm F 2" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
I like getting lost in rural America, as long as I have a full tank of gas. I discovered this place after exploring a tiny rural town in Illinois. It gave me the creeps the moment I set eyes on it and well after I last saw it in my rearview mirror. I parked, broke out the tripod and set up from this angle on the old, uneven sidewalk. I am sure someone at a house within eyeshot was watching my every move. I just had that feeling of being watched and it was just uncomfortable...which is rare for me because I am the type of person who could care less, without being rude or trespassing. The place still creeps me out looking at it.
Another sign of Fall as the great egrets gather to feed in the shallow pools of the La Crosse River Marsh on a foggy morning.
Clouds and mist surround Sentinel Rock in Yosemite Valley as the early spring snow storm clears. Of course, you can never capture the mist swirling around a mountain peak, but I hope you get a sense of the beauty and mystery.
Midway between El Capitan and Half Dome, Sentinel (Rock) is guardian of Yosemite Valley's South side. There are three difficult climbing routes up Sentinel Rock and a dangerous descent.
Thanks for stopping by.

Resting on shore after its long journey is this old log on the WA coast. Pastel blue sky and the smooth waves surround the old driftwood log.
This is a long exposure technique used to smooth out the water and create a mist like effect, very calming and tranquil.

Actually, this was a young girl dressed in a Regency style costume to tour the house at Lyme Park. There were quite a few people dressed up, just for fun. But my camera/lens struggled with the indoor lighting so most of the shots failed, except for this one where the back-lighting really helped :)
Plenty of grain again, but hopefully it adds to the atmosphere!
Thanks for looking!

Praktica MTL3 / Optomax 135mm lens / Foma Retropan 320 film
Taken at film speed - developed in Ilfosol 3 (1:9, 9'15" with a little gentle agitation every minute)
An over exposed shot taken at Dymchurch beach recently. I was experimenting with how far I could push a shallow DoF shot in bright sunlight for creative reasons.
I hope you enjoy.
Shot on Leica X
I have tried to make head and tail of the ghost sign on this long abandoned shop in Yeoval, New South Wales. I think it was an electrical goods retailer or repairs or perhaps plumbing and electrical. What do you think. I doubt there will be a reopening anytime soon.
St. John the Baptist graveyard is close to the house in which Bram Stoker lived in Clontarf, Dublin. It didn't get a mention in Dracula but some sections of a book I've read recently take place in the graveyard. Dracul, co-authored by Dacre Stoker the grandnephew of Bram didn't appeal to me. Interestingly, Bram Stoker spent his early childhood a short distance from where I grew up.
Grungy bokeh for Wednesday.
Utilising a beautiful negative edge from the new Flypaper Fly Edge pack #21 was used here.

The glint of a brilliant sunset falls on Amtrak train 7, the westbound 'Empire Builder', as it accelerates under the 35th Street Viaduct in Milwaukee on CP's Watertown Sub. On one car, the glint brings out the ghost of the "Superliner" lettering that was once applied to the fleet.
