This was the first time I had seen and photographed these guys.
This shot was taken with the 500mm and a Canon 1.4x teleconverter on a Wimberley head & Gitzo tripod set up. Amazing stuff.

The enormous Hitachi 1200 started casting basin excavation at the SR 520 Pontoon Construction Project site in Aberdeen May 2, 2011. The excavator has an 8-yard bucket and can fill a standard dump truck in one scoop.

Strobism: lit with two gridded SB600 from above. It took us about an hour to get distance between the two speedlights and distance of the model to the floor just right to get the desired light effect.
Sangerati presents its finest vehicle ever. The 2013 Sangerati Di Lusso concept will not hit dealerships till sometime around the New Year. But when it does, it's sure to be a hit.
The all new Di Lusso is full of space and can comfortably sit four adults. The original Di Lusso (2001) was one of two fully framed cars in North America (competing with the crown vic.) However the second generation (2010 wagon) took that away. But it's back! The all new Di Lusso features all new framework and is built off Sangerati's new Y platform which replaced the X platform.
The car seen here will run you around 40 thousand USD but there are other options. This is a 5.0 liter v8 with a, get this, 8 speed transmission.
A base model Di Lusso could cost as low as $26,500, lower than the 2nd generation.
This model features a large spacious interior, full size trunk, and even a full size spare tire.
The 2013 Di Lusso was designed by Alex Sangi of Sangerati Motors and will go on sale spring 2012.

Getting quite close to being finished. Sometime next week the floor gets painted. Then I will complete the flow of the checkerboard road right out to the edge of the stage. Should be a pretty cool effect.
Everyone at the school has been very excited to see this evolve. This back drop is in plain view of the main entrance hall where they all have lunch, assemblies etc. So the kids get to see it every day and so many of them come up to me with there compliments and excited energy. In our art starved educational system, the kids crave a connection to creativity now more than ever.
