Over a half century ago in an era of large farm families, it was not uncommon for there to be more kids than available beds. The words "get over" were often heard in the dark, especially on hot and humid summer nights.
Eldemar a state of the art ocean going yacht built on the foil sail technology as it gets ready for its upcoming debut.
Took the shot on a bright brilliant blue oyster of a day in Kochi which the ignormaus will call a Photoshop sky.
There is still lots of work going on before the aerofoil sails go on to the yacht.
I decided to revisit this photo which was taken a few days ago. When I was taking the photo, I met another photographer, called Ian, with whom I had an interesting conversation about this view in particular but also photography in general. While he was able to post a successful image from the session, I just could not get anything to my satisfaction so I gave up and moved on to something else.
However, being at a loose end the other day I decided to try again and this is the result. The cloud formations above the hills were amazing but they've made for a rather messy composition. I've tried cropping it differently and even converting it to B&W but I feel this is the best I can do. One of those all too common situations where actually being there was more impressive than the resulting photographs.
the spider who has built the giant web across
our patio door, has given up her web design
practice, too cold and windy, but she still is
hanging around on the frame. Today I took a
few portraits of her with my phone. They were
pretty blah so I decided to solarize them.
Right now we are experiencing heavy rainfall,
Ross had to bring out the pump to keep the patio
from flooding, so the patio door was opened
many times, but she is hunkered down on
the window frame, out of harm's way.

Get outta town! A sad announcement today from a once great heritage railway now all but struggling to keep its head above water. One I spent my early high-school years volunteering for, riding the trains from the baggage car souvenir table. The open baggage doors letting in the sounds and smells of the RS11 is something I'll remember well.
Overpaid management for a nonprofit and the township at their throats with getting things up to code in a losing battle against a local government who's made it clear they want them gone. The YDHR plans to move elsewhere but being connected to Metrolinx, the odds of most of their equipment getting out of there is low. Their slough of bad luck, covid shut downs and the director's raking in 6 figures keeping them in the red, any expensive move doesn't seem so plausible in it's current state. Only time will tell what happens, but here's to the memories it gave me.
As always, an infrequent gym post. Sorry for long time followers who expect to see content....just very busy lately and it's hard to even just catch up with friends.
Since I'll be the guide (as always, J's driving and I say left or right) I figured it would be a good time to get to know the countries better. Bill told me a lot of cool things about Australia, some of which we could already prove to be correct, and the Rough Guides always come in handy.

Well I thought I was looking at an angry Snoopy as I looked through the viewfinder - but then I clocked that I was looking over the fence into our garden and this is really the top of the Contorted Hazel tree in the garden with Snoopy trying to get out of all the twisted and contorted branches !!
Making a portrait from time to time, makes me feel happy.
Especially when it comes unexpected: This lady was sitting in her window, looking for fresh air, which she couldn't find in her dark and far from airy city apartment.

The new Get Smart movie is now being shown in theaters. This, of course, was based on the original TV series, Get Smart which aired from 1965 to 1970. One of my favorite all time sitcoms, it starred Don Adams as Maxwell Smart. Long before the modern day cell phone was invented, Smart used an analog rotary dial wireless telephone which he had neatly hidden in the soul of his shoe. I like to think of Maxwell Smart as the world's first person to use a cell phone, some 30 years before anyone else.
Don Adams (1923-2005) was an actor and stand-up comedian. His album, Don Adams, Live? was recorded live at the Sands in Las Vegas in 1967.

This was hilarious. The Mom was trying to lower herself into the water to get baby off. Baby was having nothing to do with this. Eventually, Mom had to breach out of the water to remove the baby.

More and more people wonder who is actually running the American government, with justification. There seems to be a lack of interest in helping the people or doing any serious problem solving on the part of the chief executive.
The original photo was A.I. generated. Photoleap was used to create this version. I leave it to you to name the actual people that the two figures represent.
