The past few days have seen the Tall Ships visiting Halifax. About 50 vessels of various types were here. The mist cleared for the sail past and many people watched the spectacle from Point Pleasant Park, including this girl standing on the World War 2 Memorial for sailors.
Immature male in the River Thames photographed from Gravesend, Kent. The pearlescent greyish tones rather than pure white/cream show this to be an immature animal and while I didn't get a view of its masculinity, others apparently have! The sharp low back ridge that hints at a dorsal fin discarded by evolution shows very dark and this colour can be retained throughout the animal's life.
It appears fit and healthy and has been seen catching fish, though the Thames appeared too murky for me to see such detail.
A fabulous encounter that lasted well over an hour!

Golden Canyon gets its name from the yellowish sediments and rocks that form its walls. The trailhead for the canyon is just off the Badwater Road. Many hikers use a car shuttle system to leave a car at the Golden Canyon trailhead. Then they drive another car up to Zabriskie Point and hike down Golden Canyon.
Get the tools; precision screwdrivers, double tape to hold the screws, blower, brush to clean the internals.

We are getting three photo canvases from Cafe Press (thanks groupon!) of Bailey to hang in our office. This set is unusual because it doesn't contain any Dockdogs photos. We figured that we have enough of those hanging around already!

Taken with my underwater Vivitar ViviCam 8400 camera. Not a bad photo for an inexpensive underwater camera! The playa dust destroyed my expensive digital camera last year, so this year, I chose an underwater camera. If water can't get into it, then neither can dust. It took great photos and was small enough to carry in my fanny pack.
