It's so difficult to sometimes get my brain in gear at the end of the day when there's so much that seems to be remembered with the kids all day long, so I apologize if it seems that I have nothing to report....just a bit pooped.
But, all is well and Richie has been actually quite wonderful. Tonight he kept asking for permission for everything. After taking his bath he came to me and asked, "Mommy, can I watch a video?" I said that it would be fine since it was past 8:30 and we'd already spent a bit of time before his bath reading. He said, "Thank you, Mommy". And, then said, "Mommy, is it okay if I have chocolate milk now?" I said, "Of course, Richie". And, he again said, "Thank you, Mommy".
He wanted Alana to take a bath with him too, but she had already gone to sleep...which, by the way, she went down at about 7:45 and has been sleeping every since...not a peep! Richie, of course, again, gave her a goodnight kiss and said, "Night-night, Ana". And, amazingly, Richie gave me no argument at 9pm when I told him it's bedtime. I think he was pretty tired though because he hadn't napped.
Anyhow, here are a few pics.

This male tiger walked out from the bamboo right in front of our gypsy / jeep as we did a drive in Kanha. For a few minutes, our driver would back up for a bit and then let him get closer again so we could get some shots in. Eventually some other jeeps turned up behind him but their passengers only ever got to see his (beautiful) backside
Sophie and I were the only folks in our group not to accidentally capsize - a very good thing indeed.

I ran into Glen and Leslie at the end of the Middle Fork Road. They had just finished hiking the Garfield Ledges trail.
I was writing a message in the Snow when they called out to me.
Our sentiments about 2025 are similar, it sucked. Glad to put this year behind us.
The tradition of the Rushcart at Saddleworth stopped sometime in the early C20th, but was revived by the Saddleworth Morris Men in 1975 and is held over the August Bank Holiday.
A 2 wheeled cart with a 2 ton conical 13ft high structure is decorated with heather. On the Saturday a banner is added, designed by that years “Jockey”. The Jockey mounts the top of the structure and sits astride, holding on to two Rowan branches. This normally the Morris Man with the longest continuous service who hasn’t done it before.
The cart is then pulled around the Saddleworth villages by Morris Men from all over the UK, stopping at various pubs along the way, where dances are also performed and bands play. During the journey the Jockey is supplied with ale via a copper kettle.
On the Sunday the cart goes to St Chad’s church, Uppermill, accompanied by more morris men. Banners from pervious years are also displayed in church.
2014 was the The 40th Anniversary of its revival.
