My Dad, Doc Navarro, shooting Sydney's Opera House to get the unique angles this majestic building could only offer to such a great photographer.
I haven't posted anything recently as I am getting ready for the new year. If I am not back again til 2009, then Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
Here's a photo (SOOC with just sharpening) of a beautiful bride getting ready, which I captured in November at the awesome Parker Hotel in Palm Springs.
Before entering the Connecticut Ren Fair, my daughter Carolyn is helping her friend Justin McGuire get into costume. My wife, Mary Ann is in the center and our friend Jean Smith can be seen to the left. Note the somewhat unmidieval modes of transportation.
On 8 July, 2017 Carolyn and Justin married.
Was challenged by Marianna Armata to do a portrait of a stranger. Strangers were tough seeing the I live in the country and don't get out much. Got this portrait of my wife during an unplanned trip to Chicago. Late but better than never.

It is still missing a few important parts... power connector + labels, footprint for optional soft-start capacitor...
If you should have an idea what else to put on there, let me know. Keep in mind that these modules should be 'dumb' and there will be another board which is supposed to control them (PWM dimming, maybe IR receiver or PIR sensor).
The board is designed to run at 24V DC (or a bit less) and will draw about 100mA. Total light output should be 180lm. If the cooling via the copper pour is sufficient, I might increase the current a bit.
One of the main shows at the Minnesota Renaissance Fair is the jousting competition. It's actually fun to watch. This jousting troupe travels to various Ren Fairs; I've seen them several times but they always put on a good show. I didn't get that many shots of them at the MRF since every time I set up for a shot a horse seemed to get in my way!
I took this photo over the Labor Day weekend in September 2011.

Found this new SD70ACe sitting by the yard office in Burlington, Ia, so I braved the rain to grab a shot. The unit behind it is the 9647, the former "vomitbonnet".
For his next duty is the driver of EAC Lda operated Atomic bodied Scania, seen at the depot in Canico Madeira. 17/07/12

A member of the "Fighting Scotts" softball team at Westminster College wears her enthusiasm for the Mercer-Lawrence Heart Walk proudly. Just maybe - I'm not a 'Landscape' photog after all!?!?
A ways downcanyon, the bottom gets narrow and deep, carving a classic twisty slot. We explored for a short distance then clumb back out and tracked the top for as far as we could. Once again we failed to bring enough water. Seems to be something we have to do once every two or three years just to remind ourselves to not be stupid and bring enough water.
Whatever.
We're planning on going back and going much further down, or maybe starting from Route 24 and working our way up to here.

This is the closest i got from the owl yesterday .. the ground was icy so i could get on my belly and move forward... (better angle and less scary for the bird)shot handheld with the 500mm from 2 inches from the ground... As you can feel on this shot..half a second later she was gone..
It is always good to get down and dirty... try it ;-)
My contacts can see a bigger size ;-)
