Cannot get out of a photo funk I have been in of late. Apologies for no new shots and lack of activity in general. Keep waiting for life to slow down but alas it doesnt.
I posted quite a number of refuge/road/fog shots last year so I kept a few back- this is one of those redshirted photos. (We here in Bama love our football analogies)
Thanks for the views, comments, invites- a first pager!

Getting close to the structure of Britannia bridge.
Britannia Bridge is a bridge across the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. It was originally designed and built by the noted railway engineer Robert Stephenson as a tubular bridge of wrought iron rectangular box-section spans for carrying rail traffic.
And in the far distant is the first longest suspension bridge - the Menai Suspension bridge.

Scan of a slide (possibly Agfachome) from my collection; the purple tinge is typical of that brand! Image not taken by me.
The Wood Duck chicks are getting bigger, but she is missing three. Kevin Fox took a picture of them on 6-16-18 and all twelve were there. Keeping our fingers crossed no more disappear. Peace Valley Park, New Britain Pa.
I needed to stand on top of my truck's tonneau with my tripod in order to get a clear shot of the Kite's nest. Lucky for me, the tonneau holds 500 lbs.
I get so lonely
Can't let just anybody hold me
You are the one that lives in me, my dear
Want no one but you
Caution...when someone tells you to get a grip...apparently around their neck is not what they meant:)))
Finally getting some color here in New Jersey and what better place to see some than Waterloo Village.
"The Peter D. Smith house was erected in 1871, the same year Peter, 26, was married. The house overlooks the village and has a sweeping view of the Musconetcong River and Morris Canal."
"...considered to be the most architecturally significant building in the village. Located on top of a rise of land on the north side of the old Waterloo Road, the Peter D. Smith house is a three-story wood-framed dwelling designed in the Second Empire style of architecture."

The fig tree is laden. The fruit is perfectly ripe enough for the Satin Bowerbirds, but not yet good enough for humans. We'll be lucky to get any, but we do get to watch the birds stuff themselves silly.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

“The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams.”
― Oprah Winfrey
PS - I was so excited to play in the puddles that I didn't realize I'd already used the "adventure awaits" phrase. Oh well, I could use some more adventures in my life.

'I've come to believe that it’s worth getting to know your fearful mind... it’s never going to leave you. You can’t evict it. It’s more or less hardwired into your psyche and will accompany you onto every stage you set foot on, into every job interview you go to, and every new relationship you enter into. It’s there, and it’s not going to shut up.'

At the time of taking this I was pretty fed up that this great egret that I was watching had turned it's back to me, I had been watching it for quite a while walking around with this fish, I didn't realise that this particular shot was worth a second look until now, so there is a lesson there to go back and look at what you got again.

On this stretch of the famous “Mother Road”—the primary US highway connecting the Midwest and West Coast from the 1920s through the 80s—the road is a pair of roadways—the now unused old road (where I stood to take the picture), which was washed out in several places west of Summit Valley by the floods of 1938, and the “new” road, on the left, built as the original road's replacement. As you can see on the hillside near the center of the image, an enterprising local rancher has cleared away the brush in the form of a “66” to commemorate the famous highway, across which generations of Americans migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.

Get Up
Song by Shinedown
Get up, get up
Get up, get up
Get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up, get up
I know you're clinging to the light of day
To tell you everything's a-okay
And medication don't do much
Yeah, it just numbs the brain
Guess you might say I'm a little intense
I'm on the bright side of being hell-bent
So, take it from me, you're not the only one
Who can't see straight (can't see straight)
If you were ever in doubt
Don't sell yourself short, you might be bulletproof
Hard to move mountains when you're paralyzed
But you gotta try
And I'm calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
What's taking so long?
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Stop stalling, I'm calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
Ain't nothing wrong
'Cause I believe you can be whatever
And I agree you can do much better, trust me
Everybody wants to sing their song
So, Marvin Gaye, "What's Going On?"
Ain't nothing normal when it comes to you and me
I'd rather twist myself in knots than watch you give up on your dreams
If you were ever in doubt
Don't sell yourself short, you might be bulletproof
Hard to move mountains when you're paralyzed
But you gotta try
So I'm calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
What's taking so long?
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Stop stalling, I'm calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
Ain't nothing wrong
'Cause I believe you can be whatever
And I agree you can do much better, trust me
Yeah, I don't know why I never talk about it
I guess that's probably part of the problem
Yeah, sometimes you're wrong, sometimes you're right
Just gotta keep moving
Yeah, I'm just gonna keep moving
Today, tomorrow, gonna get
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
What's taking so long?
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Stop stalling, I'm calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
Ain't nothing wrong
'Cause I believe you can be whatever
And I agree you can do much better, trust me
Get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up, get up
