The Wood Duck chicks are getting bigger, but she is missing three. Kevin Fox took a picture of them on 6-16-18 and all twelve were there. Keeping our fingers crossed no more disappear. Peace Valley Park, New Britain Pa.
I needed to stand on top of my truck's tonneau with my tripod in order to get a clear shot of the Kite's nest. Lucky for me, the tonneau holds 500 lbs.

Well we were further up the Chilliwack Valley and decided to take a right on some random 4x4 road in chase of a distant peak. Neither of us knew what we were in for. At the time of taking this I was pretty fed up that this great egret that I was watching had turned it's back to me, I had been watching it for quite a while walking around with this fish, I didn't realise that this particular shot was worth a second look until now, so there is a lesson there to go back and look at what you got again.

One of the triplets. I did get to see a glimpse of all 3 at the same time but they are just like kids and weren't all looking at the same time for the picture. Lots of wing stretching happening, wouldn't be surprised if they get out soon and test them out.
It's been a while since I've been to the Lake District, I keep managing to find a photo from my last hike there.. but photo's are running short... I need another visit :-)
It must have been a chilly June morning (about 6 AM) when this image was taken as the beautiful female mountain bluebird has puffed up some of her feathers.
These special birds will be back in about 7 or 8 weeks. Given the cold and snow in Alberta at the moment, it seems like a pipedream. However, there is lots of time for the sun to warm things up as the days get longer.
