The Grant Boyhood Home in Georgetown, Ohio was where Ulysses S. Grant lived from 1823 until 1839,[3] when he left for the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Jesse and Hanna Grant built the two story cottage in 1823. They later added an addition onto the home in 1828. Ulysses left home in 1839.
In 1976, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nine years later, it was designated a National Historic Landmark.

This lighthouse is known as the North Island Lighthouse by the locals. It sits 12 miles away from Georgetown. This is the 3rd lighthouse, the 1st burned down, the 2nd lost to a hurricane, this one was built in 1812 using brick and built in a Cap Cod style. It is still active today, but is fully automated. We were not allowed to get off our boat due to Homeland Security issues. Being an active navagational aid it is considered a target! So all my pictures were taken from a boat, except this on, it was taken from the beach about a mile away.
