It was a little cold to be out shooting. But I had a clear day with even light, so why not shoot in a small area that I haven't shot much. Welcome to downtown Georgetown.

Georgetown's grew bigger in the mid-1980s, when Toyota built Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, the first wholly owned United States plant. A Japanese Garden was created to reflect the town's unique ties to Japan.
According to the city's tourism website:
"Yuko-En on the Elkhorn, the Official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden:Yuko-En on theElkhorn is a six acre community garden located on US 25 North in Georgetown. It is adjacent to the historic Cardome Centre, on Elkhorn Creek, and in the heart of the Elkhorn Trail corridor. Yuko-En's paths offer visitors a walk through a Bluegrass landscape in a Japanese style-stroll garden. Enjoy arched bridges, waterfalls, Japanese Koi (bring your quarters to feed the fish), a Zen Rock garden and more. The garden is an ideal place for environmental, historic or cultural programs and events."

It has been a long time since I had a chance to wander through downtown Georgetown, plus I couldn't say no to a beautiful day! The sun was shining, the weather though a little cold was still good. Plus the streets were nice and quiet.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge, more commonly known as the Key Bridge, is a six-lane reinforced concrete arch bridge conveying U.S. Route 29 (US 29) traffic across the Potomac River between the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington County, Virginia, and the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Completed in 1923, it is Washington's oldest surviving road bridge across the Potomac River.
Across the river is Arlington, Virginia. The first time I can to Washington and a kid with my parents we stayed in Arlington in a motel with a sweeping view of the city. There were no hi-rises just a few garden apartments and a lot of single family homes.
