View straight down from the top level of SRJC's parking garage...

walking between the slabs, as if the present slips through history. a fleeting moment, a suspended step, captured in light and shadow. the memorial embraces and guides, while the architecture silently speaks of what remains unsaid. sharp lines of the past meet the soft rhythm of a modern step.

My wife and I are big fans of Art Deco—it's our absolute favorite architectural style. That's actually the main reason we made a stop in Kaunas during our trip through the Baltic States a couple of months ago. While preparing for our journey, we learned that Lithuania's second-largest city is renowned for its stunning Art Deco buildings, and it certainly did not disappoint us. Kaunas is a treasure trove of hidden gems for anyone who loves Art Deco. We followed a walking tour from our guidebook and came across this beautiful villa with its clean lines and bold design. To highlight the building's timeless style, I converted the image to black and white. - Kaunas, Lithuania

15/365. This saw a rather heavy crop in photoshop...but I like the result...

Thanks to all who comment or favorite; it is always appreciated!

I took this abstract photo of a wall panel, focusing on the interplay of light and shadows. The clean lines and geometric shapes create a minimalist composition that highlights the subtle variations in color and texture. This image reminds me of the beauty in everyday objects when seen from a different perspective. The simplicity and symmetry evoke a sense of calm and balance.

When I say I take my camera everywhere...I mean I take my camera everywhere...

Difficult day as it just was crazy bright and hot. Pretty pleased for a total beginner

A beautiful setting overlooking the Elbe river and harbour in Hamburg located at the Elbchaussee 139. A masterpiece of design, hospitality, function and setting. We enjoyed our beautiful 3-Course lunch on a sunny afternoon at this 1*Michelin starred restaurant by chef Ali Güngörmüs who was there in person to greet people which felt like a “home”. Le Canard Nouveau comes highly recommended, it’s worth a special visit and even a detour. Here we found also the Lime-Tree Terrace and the Japan Room which are waiting to be explored beside the beautiful views and gourmet pleasures. Our April 2016 visit and yes, we hope to visit again in our future. Highly recommended.

captured in the business district of "cuatro torres" in madrid, this photograph highlights a moment of urban life. the postman, dressed in his uniform and carrying mail, walks with purpose across the tiled plaza. his shadow stretches out ahead of him, paralleling his stride and adding a dynamic element to the composition. the modern, minimalist backdrop of fountains and geometric lines in the pavement contrasts with the human element, creating a striking balance between the environment and its inhabitants. the image encapsulates the everyday routines that form the rhythm of city life.

this space, perhaps a waiting room or a hidden corner within the hannover opera, speaks in a language of silence and symmetry. rows of white columns stand like quiet sentinels, guarding the stillness of the room. the ceiling lights glow softly, casting a uniform light that flattens shadows and adds to the feeling of calm. colorful chairs—orange, yellow, pale blue—break the monochrome, suggesting a playful counterpoint to the solemn architecture. the glass door at the end holds the promise of something beyond, an exit to a different reality. it’s a space between moments, a pause before the next act unfolds, where the absence of people gives weight to the architecture itself, creating an atmosphere that is both serene and suspenseful.
