Grant "Twiggy" Baker and Tyler Fox catch a huge wave on January 24, 2014 during the finals of the Mavericks Invitational surf contest on a beautiful day at Pillar Point in Half Moon Bay, California. Twiggy scored a 10 on this wave leading to his victory in the contest.

The thorny shrub...Matagouri co-existing with an erica species.

The dreaded Matagouri or wild irishman (Discaria Toumatou) is New Zealand's only native thorn plant. It is drought-tolerant and once established fertlised soils it forms dense stands up to 5 meters tall and is considered a weed by farmers.

Unfortunately it was a rainy day and clouds kept covering the rock. Still, it's a very large and impressive natural feature. But the only way to see it is from the highway, as there's no park around it or parking lot or even a turn-off to stop for a minute.
