Size: Specimen is 2.84 inches wide X 1.82 inches tall.

Geode piece beaded onto UltraSuede and surrounded with a variety of beads. Spiral weave necklace.

Amethyst Geode. The Amethyst is the purple variety and most valuable of the Quartz.

This design was complicated due to that organic shape so the inner is complex and intricate.

It can be changed to red or green crystal.

A huge Amethyst Geode that sits just inside the door of Christophers For Crystals in Cuba Mall Wellington New Zealand.

 

Check out the rainbow Orb inside to the left, it didnt show up in any of the other photos I took of the geode and the camera lens was clean at the time.

La Géode is an Omnimax theatre in the Parc de la Villette at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris. It's a perfect sphere. (sources : Official website & Wikipedia).

Geodes are hollow, vaguely spheroid to oblate masses of mineral matter (which may include crystals) that form either by the filling of vesicles in volcanic to sub-volcanic rocks by minerals deposited from hydrothermal fluids or by the dissolution of igneous nodules or syngenetic concretions and partial filling by the same or other minerals precipitated from diagenetic water, groundwater or hydrothermal fluids.

Een geode of druse is een holle of gedeeltelijk holle, min of meer bolvormige knol die aan de binnenkant begroeid is met kristallen. Meestal zijn geodes tussen de 2,5 en 30 centimeter groot, maar dit kan sterk variëren. Ze worden gevonden in sedimentgesteenten en vulkanische gesteenten en zijn soms erg kostbaar.

Taken from a distance this photo gives a feel for just how large The Geode actually is in comparison to the buildings and steps seen in front of it.
