For the chinese new year, a man disguised in an old wise man was standing in front of a bank in china tow, giving out good luck money to anybody asking for it. No need to say he was very popular. I took this picture because it looked like a symbol of generosity to me.

Isn't he beautiful! and so tame!

Generous support from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs enabled the Armory to partner with Proyecto Pastoral and Homeboy to present free art making classes for children and teens in Boyle Heights. This year, young people developed their creative voices in Armory Teaching Artist-led art courses which were provided virtually this year in response to the pandemic. Thank you, Department of Cultural Affairs, for helping make this great program happen! Click below and enjoy these highlights from the 2020-21 program.

Robert Kaufman generously donated a charm pack for each member of participating chapters in the Modern Quilt Guild to use for a challenge project of our choosing.

The NOVA Modern Quilt Guild selected the Bright palate (http://www.robertkaufman.com/pre-cut/konareg_cotton_solids_bright_palette1/) to work with and each of us made one or more mini quilts (29"x29" to 45"x45"). The members were allowed to add fabric from their stash as long as the charms remained the stars of the show. The quilts will be donated to the INOVA Fairfax Children's Hospital NICU.

Road Toward Jerusalem

Come!

Let us walk

the road

toward Jerusalem

But I warn you

it is strewn

with sweating rocks

Boulders!

And each step along

the way might burn

Right through your

shoe!

For there is

no perfect journey

when meandering

That path

And the honey milk

and gold that you

and I were told about

will not be found

behind the twelve gates

that surround the Holy

City But rather along

The Way

toward the golden

walls that glisten and

where the milk and honey

flow

within

Rex generously agreed to share his 52 Weeks for Dogs spot with his sister, Wick. They both competed at the BC & Yukon Agility Regional Championships last weekend, and both qualified for Nationals. Yay! I really wasn't expecting Rex to qualify, since he's a very inexperienced agility dog, but the little guy pulled it off, even earning a 4th place in one round of Jumpers (out of 68 dogs).

Nationals are less than 45 days away, but for this week, we will bask in the glory of Two Very Good Dogs. :-)
