The generation that declared a social revolution to become seperated from the boomers and generations before them! This generation wasn't taught respect or anything, thus leading to youth decline bringing on the decline of modern civilization altogether! It wasn't even known for the greatest of parents either, but having much lack of morality. Generation B said that generation x was full of slackers and generational breakers, they retaliated by saying they were helping to reshape history and introduce much invention that would bring about the future. In the music world and in others this generation began experimenting with many things. They tried synthesizers and sound samples especially machinery introduction to music creating music like Disco, Electronica, House, Industrial, New Wave and Glam. They experimented with clothes, culture and makeup! The social revolution started about the 70's when disco inferno was the big deal, then they moved forward into the 80's continuing mainstream culture with the modern renassiance giving glam and new wave especially the new rebellion known as heavy metal, they finally arrived at the 90's the golden decade where entertainment value was very high, grunge was great, alternative granted the freedom of random exploration and goth was a way to respond to the sappy pop music of the time. Trends such as skaters, vampire kids, wiggers, preps and even backwards kids began alongside the mall trends of metal, punk and goth. This generation crossed genres in which to create new ones or to create a new feel for the old ones. Countless subcultures and other counter cultures existed around this generational time. This generation also got to see the changing of the millennium though their culture was finished just before!
Idk if the way she’s stored or produced but my Generation Girl Nichelle has a sort of dusty white surface to her face. But it wiped off as I ripped off her head so all is well.
I find her box is like, a time capsule of my very early childhood so I’m leaving everything in the box asides from her head so just have some detailed photos of her accessories.
I hate to sound old but I sincerely miss how Barbie dolls were this level of detailed and engaging again. Look at all the extra stuff, the printed accessories, the detailed packaging. I really miss it and hope Mattel can someday make another line like Generation Girl…
Anyway, Nichelle is on my black MtM body but she’s definitely a shade darker than that. She matches DC Bumblebee pretty well but I want my GG dolls to have similar body shapes…
We were asked to put together a service where we can honor all the generations in our church. As a result, we decided to go with the theme of a tree and the roots that keep the foundation strong to keep it growing. This service is part of our annual capital campaign where we ask our people to commit above their tithe.

I have so many old ancestor photos and I love to look at the faces and see who resembles whom. Here I am with 6 of my ancestors. Myself in the center. Clock wise across the top is by maiden names My mother Betty Clark, My Grandmother, Bertha Peters, My Great Grandmother Dona Payne. These ladies all my mothers side. The bottom is daddy side. My Grandmother Nettie Booher,Great Grandmother Melissa Bullock, and gg grandmother Louisa Shipley. To be honest even though they are all mother and daughter I dont see any resemblence to any of these ladies or none to me. We were all in the same age generation I was 19 and the rest in the very early 20s except im unsure of the last one Louisa I think she was about 27.. What do you think??? See any resemblences..????

Here’s some more pics of my Generation Girl Mari custom. In the back of my mind I’ve wanted to a modern take on all the characters but that’s far too much money to spend on dolls with sculpts that’s barely been used just for me to strip and reroot.
But here’s what a taste of that might be. I really wanted to lean into Mari still having two toned hair like her original doll, but since fashion trends have changed, her original look NOW is a bit…. expected for “the asian” character in a doll line and that it probably wouldn’t be something an American corporation would market to girls.
So Mari still has dyed hair but in softer colours to take into consideration of the counterculture looks of Japanese fashion but also something you might find in a modern fashion doll while her make up is also inspired by such trends.
And I tried to find her clothes that still has a bit of fun and practicality to it like her original look but underscored with a black crop tank top to still give it some edge too.
Anyway it’d be nice if I could do more but of course my favourite characters have the least utilised sculpts….
