I was just getting in my Van after a pleasant walk and saw this man, child and dog walking up the hill past the village pond. For once I was quick on the trigger ;-)
“Like branches on a tree, we grow in different directions but our roots remain the same.” - Unknown. This road trip we took was mainly a chance to reconnect with family. We saw our daughters and their families but I also had a brief visit with my siblings. Staying connected as family is often challenging when distances keep us apart. We had lots of grey rainy days so I went with the B&W version of this tree. I think it may be a cluster of trees that look like one grand tree. The branches seem in sync with each other. It was growing along the south shores of the St. Lawrence River. Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday.
On a remote hill top a couple of children ( prob bro/sister about 10-11 year olds) came to watch the sunrise & take photos. They were all alone & there was no one else there, they walked ages to get there , I don't know who they were but it was good to see this next generation so keen on photography & nature !.

The big copper dome of Old Supreme Court which turned green due to oxidisation is one of the distinctive features of the old Supreme Court building. This building was the last Classical architecture building to be built on the former British colony. Hopefully it will remain as one of the finest monuments ever preserved in Singapore.

CANAAN VALLEY - WEST VIRGINIA
Over the past thirteen plus years, the wife and I pay a biennial visit to Dolly Sods and the nearby Canaan Valley State Park to hike and enjoy the scenery. Along the short Blackwater River Trail, we have observed this same beaver dam throughout our visits. West Virginia does not allow hunting or trapping within the boundaries of its state parks and I wonder, how many multi-generational beaver families have been able to maintain this dam?

This view of the Indiana Northeastern running a NS unit grain train east to Montpelier shows off three different generations of EMD cab design. The leader, 1601, a 1952 built GP7 has EMD's original rounded cab roof while the 3rd out GP30 2185 has the distinctive cab unique to that model. Second out is 3125, original built as a SP SD45 with the cab profile that reigned supreme through the remainder of the "standard cab" era. This angle compares the three well. For generations, the people of Connemara and beyond have gathered at the crossroads of Maam Cross, Co. Galway, to sell their famous Connemara ponies, livestock and farm goods. 'The Big Show' occurs in October of each year, though Covid forced cancellation in 2020 and 2021. This brief series will feature candid portraits of attendees as well as a taste of the accompanying 'craic' (fun) of the rain swept autumn meet.
