On my way home from work, I saw the 52 crew headed up the Edgewater Spur and gave chase. I caught up with them at the run around track and set up to take some pics. Shortly thereafter, a woman in a minivan drove by slowly....then turned around and came back. This young boy popped out, stood by the ROW and shivered as Josh and Dennis went about their work. Even in this day of "sterile railroading", so boring to those of us who grew up years ago, the next generation of railfan is growing up. I'm glad to see them take interest.

Generation X, born roughly between 1965 and 1980, is often described as the first to arrive in a Western world where cultural revolutions had been widely adopted and where the consumerist model had established itself as an almost unshakeable norm. We grew up surrounded by icons resting on commercial foundations, there was always a price to pay. However, everything was accessible if you could afford it, and everyone was for sale. We navigated a peaceful and economically stable sphere, but one dominated by an almost irreversible logic of consumption. It had become impossible to think outside the box. A few tried it and went mad. It was in this existential chaos that brands established themselves as essential and respectable values. Mickey Mouse was more honored than Jesus. Mickey Mouse didn't come for free, to get access, you needed a certain economic status. Jesus belonged to the poor and therefore to no one. He was cheap, so consequently suspicious. We proved incapable of questioning the system.

Poem by Tom Lee
My goodness, careful with your back!
Are you sure that you should do
Such complicated exercise?
Don’t put your back askew
Oh Gran it’s very sweet of you
I do this every day
I started off quite gently
It helps with my ballet
It doesn’t look quite lady like
Not like things in My Day
Don’t do yourself a damage
That’s all that I shall say
Thanks Gran, I love it that you care
And that you think of me
But I better stop and tidy up
The cat, it wants it’s tea…

I used my Asus Zenfone 2 that is really showing its age now (I bought it way back 2015) and it doesn't take shots like it used to, but I had no other choice lol
