Ive been out of Ireland now for almost 11 years. My home town, Dublin has changed and changed again and is entering into a modern maturity. It's quite a fascinating place, more so then I ever remember it before.

It's hard to believe that the trusty Dennis Dart is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2015 and what better way to start the year that to have a nice run out on one of the original batch!

Amy Sterling:
"Hey there! It's me, Amy Sterling again. Today's lesson is the Federation Trooper Armor."
"With our territory secured by the efforts of the Space Marines, the various organizations unified to create the United Space Federation. Generation One Armor was confiscated and the Space Marines were disbanded."
"Generation Two armor was lighter, meant to be worn by humans without cybernetic enhancements. The under-suit still gave some enhancement to the soldier to support the weight of the extra armor. Two variant helmets were made, one for use in oxygen rich environments, and another for combat units in space."
Here is my Generation Girl Blaine rerooted with hair harvested from a MTM Teresa on a Prince Aiden body and action figure hands. I’m always really surprised that, asides from the Lara/Ana sculpt and Barbie sculpt, most of the other GG doll sculpts are barely used in Barbie lines.
I especially love how mature looking this male sculpt considering how goofy looking Ken was, and still is in the playline.
I did consider putting his hair in another style but I do like how unique his painted hair looked and wanted to show that off rather than try hiding it.

Slightly different editing here. Taken at the HRE 2012 Open House. The Aventador failed to start at the end of the show and had to be pushed back into the trailer...

This shot I've taken it from an idea of mine, to show the roughness of an old man and the softness of a little girl.

Generation Z takes "being connected" very seriously. Mobile devices are where they are. On the street, in the school, at home, and then even in (next to) the bath.

Motivation – warum bist du, was du bist?

From one generation to the next. Or should that be across a host of generations? The Tour de France cycle race came to England in 2014 and swept along Thames Street in London at impressive pace, despite the rain showers leaving the roads slippery. The crowds were large and made up of all types of people, Londoners and overseas visitors, enthusiasts and casual observers and importantly young and old. It was heartening to see younger generations being inspired by exposure to top level sport. The thought did occur who among the crowd might use that exposure to elite competition to aspire to future great achievement or to commit to a lifelong healthy lifestyle. This photo has been given the selective colour treatment to showcase the possibility as the youngster in a Team Sky jersey – already inspired by Chris Froome or Sir Bradley Wiggins maybe – stands out from the crowd with a grandstand view from a parent’s shoulders. The number of people shooting stills photos was also impressive.

In August I've received a glorious package from Japan and among the dollies inside were these two vintage Liccas. They're both 1st generation Liccas from the late 1960s, both won on auctions on the same day for a very good price. That always has me sigh in relief because I tend to worry and worry and worry I'll get outbid, and sometimes I can't even bring myself to look at the ended auction, so sure I am someone has put in a higher bid in the last minute. It's so child-like to think if you don't look at something, it hasn't happened (yet) LOLZ.
The dolls were cheaper than usual, especially the one in the front here that still has perfect face paint and uncut hair. She could easily have cost twice the price I've paid. Wow! And both have bodies in great condition with no chew marks, they just needed a wash and some good scrubbing. :) Their faces and hair, too, were all dirty and grimmy and the dolls had that typical "old attic" smell. I used anti-bacterial soap and fabric softener to clean them.
The one in the background with the bob (will take separate pics of her soon) is super cute despite the fact the seller went all "scissor happy" on her when they were a kid, haha! Often you see poor 1st gen Liccas with chopped off fringes, something that always considerably lowers their price on the secondary market. In this case it's interesting to have one with hair cut everywhere else. I think the fringe has merely been trimmed a little.
I've put them into some of my fave dresses I've had for many years and a nice white Momoko vest. They'll be getting some handmade clothes soon!
Here is my rerooted Generation Girl Blaine doll on a jointed old style Ken body with action figure hands. I knew for a long time if I ever got him I wanted to style him so that his painted hair was shown off much better and I guess this pompadour style suits it.
Btw the new Ken suit he’s wearing sucks because it’s a half print jacket :/
