The snow has already disappeared

Constructed around 1300, the stronghold belonged to the counts of Gelder until 1526. The building originally consisted of an irregular four-sided corps de logis with a circular donjon as its south-west corner tower.
The location of this tower on one of the diagonals (as at Flint Castle, built 1277, in Wales) is unusual in the Netherlands; so, too, is its massive size, acquired when it was rebuilt on the old foundations after a fire in 1412. It is c. 25 m high and 16 m in diameter, with walls ranging in thickness from 1.2 m to 4 m.
Square chambers have been contrived in the thickness of the wall. The donjon formerly was not connected to the corps de logis, but it was linked sometime after the rebuilding of 1412. The present corps de logis used to be the barbican, replacing the original corps de logis when the latter was destroyed.
The narrow section that joins it to the donjon must have been built after 1512. Rosendael Castle was altered again around 1615, when two residential wings were built, crowned with Gelderland gables and Renaissance decorations; these are joined to the donjon by means of the narrow section.
A lower ward surrounded by a moat served as an ornamental garden. Rozendaal underwent further alterations in the wake of another fire in 1714.
The Gelderland gables were replaced by a new gable, which united the living-quarters under a single roof, and a splendid park was laid out, with classical temples and pavilions; the donjon was probably lowered by one storey during the same period. Despite its history of rebuilding much of the medieval fabric of Rosendael survives.
The Rosendael Castle now houses a museum, established after the latest restoration of the building and the park, completed in 1990.

Das aus dem 17. Jahrhundert stammende Schloss wurde auf den Ruinen der früheren Burg erbaut im Auftrag der Herzöge von Geldern.

Macro Monday Hobby
Seit 30 Jahren spiele ich mit Freundinnen regelmäßig "Doppelkopf", ein Kartenspiel mit 40 Karten, das in aller Regel mit vier Personen gespielt wird. Wer mit wem spielt wird in jedem neuen Spiel neu geregelt, zwei Re / zwei Contra Partner. Die Spieler, die die Kreuzdamen in ihrem Blatt haben, bilden das Re Team, die beiden anderen Spieler sind Contra. Feste Regeln, wie beim Skat, gibt es beim Doppelkopf nicht. Das Spiel soll sich aus dem Kartenspiel "Schafskopf" entwickelt haben, Spielregeln/erläuterungen stehen unter anderem bei Wikipedia. Wir haben eine eigene Regel erstellt nach der wir spielen.
Begonnen haben wir mit vier Frauen, eine Freundin, sie war/ist nicht berufstätig, war/ist häufig auf Reisen und wir konnten nicht spielen, dann waren wir fünf, das gleiche Dilemma. Auch mit fünf Frauen fielen Termine aus, heute sind wir sechs Frauen und das Problem wurde nicht gelöst, die Welt lockt und so wird weiterhin viel gereist.
Von Anfang an wurde mit Geld gespielt, Grundpreis 5,00 DM/5,00€ jeder Punkt 0,5 Pfennig/Cent, das Geld wird in eine Kasse gezahlt, zur Bank gebracht und einmal im Jahr sind wir zusammen für ein Wochenende verreist, so waren wir in Kopenhagen, Prag, Barcelona, in Polen und in vielen Städten und Küsten in der Bundesrepublik. Konzerte/ Balettaufführungen stehen auf unserem Programm, einmal im Jahr gehen wir gemeinsam mit unseren Männern in der Adventszeit essen. For 30 years I have been playing "Doppelkopf" with friends, a card game with 40 cards that is usually played by four people. Who plays with whom is regulated in each new game, two Re / two Contra partners. The players who have the cross ladies in their hand form the re team, the other two players are contra. Fixed rules, as with skat, there is the double head not. The game is said to have evolved from the card game "Schafskopf", game rules / explanations are available at Wikipedia. We have created our own rule according to which we play.
We started with four women, one friend, she was / is not working, was traveling frequently and we could not play, then we were five, the same dilemma. There were also appointments with five women, today we are six women and the problem has not been solved, the world is luring and so much is still traveling.
From the beginning money was played, base price 5,00 DM / 5,00 € each point 0,5 penny / cent, the money is paid into a cash register, brought to the bank and once a year we travel together for a weekend, so we were in Copenhagen, Prague, Barcelona, Poland and many cities and coasts in the Federal Republic. Concerts / Balettaufführungen are on our program, once a year we go together with our men in the Advent season in a restaurant for Advent dinner.. Die Gläubigen sind sehr spendabel und so sieht man hunderte Säcke und ist doch sehr verwundert. Schließlich zählt Myanmar zu den ärmsten Ländern der Welt. Aber für Buddha und die vermeintliche Absicherung im nächsten Leben gibt man was man kann.

Meine Souvenirs sind Münzen und Banknoten, die ich aus meinen Urlaubsländern mitgebracht habe. Das ist auch ein Stück Zeitgeschichte, ich hab Groschen und Schillinge aus Österreich, Franc aus Frankreich und Belgien, Gulden aus den Niederlanden, Pesetas aus Spanien, Lira aus Italien. Aber auch aus vielen anderen Ländern habe ich Münzen, Dollar aus Kanada, Pfund aus Großbritannien, Rupien aus Indien, Lira aus der Türkei, Öre und Kronen aus Dänemark & Schweden.
Oder auch Geld aus Ländern, die es nicht mehr gibt, Jugoslawien oder die DDR.

Here is the Money i brought back from my vacations. Now we do have the Euro in Europe and we do not have to change money when we are travelling. But there are many other countrys ...
It is a bit like going back in history when I look at my little collection. Groschen and Schillinge from Austria, Pesetas from Spain, Gulden from the Netherlands, Francs from France and Belgium, Lira from Italy. But there are aslo Kronen from Denmark and Sweden, Dollars from Canada or Pounds from Britain, Rupien from India, Lira from Turkey. And I got money from Yugoslavia and the GDR (German Democratic Republic).
Do you know that too? You come to a beautiful place, a landscape panorama, a special stretch of coast by the sea or the shore of a lake and in the most beautiful places there are high fences, walls, villas or entire residential or hotel complexes.
Luckily it's not the case everywhere (in my beautiful Elbe Sandstone Mountains, for example, the view belongs to everyone) but I've experienced it several times in other places.
Then there are sights that you have to qualify for (either with money or with connections).
This also partly applies to this beautiful view of the famous “Blue Wonder”, a landmark of the city of Dresden.
When you get up here, you quickly notice that there are one house next to another. And every house has really high and opaque fences. Only from here, on the terrace of a rather chic restaurant, does one have a relatively unobstructed view.
Since I wanted to take a photo but didn't plan on eating here, I secretly sneaked onto the empty terrace (luckily it's winter) and set up my tripod in a dark corner.
Since I didn't bother anyone with anything, I think it's fine so far.
However, I would like to emphasize that I did not climb over any fences to gain entry. That would go way too far and I would skip the photo (which has already happened several times).
Kennt Ihr das auch ? Ihr kommt an einen wunderschönen Ort, ein Landschaftspanorama, einen besonderen Küstenabschnitt am Meer oder das Ufer einen Sees und an den schönsten Stellen stehen hohe Zäune, Mauern, Villen oder ganze Wohn- bzw. Hotelkomplexe.
Es ist zum Glück nicht überall der Fall (in meinem wunderschönen Elbsandsteingebirge gehört der Ausblick zum Beispiel jedem) doch ich habe es anderen Ortes schon mehrmals erlebt.
Dann sind es Anblicke, für die muss man sich qualifizieren (entweder mit Geld oder mit Beziehungen).
Dies gilt teilweise auch für diesen wunderschönen Blick auf das berühmte "Blaue Wunder" ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt Dresden.
Kommt man nämlich hier oben an, dann stellt man sehr schnell fest, dass hier ein Haus neben dem anderen steht. Und jedes Haus hat wirklich hohe und blickdichte Zäune. Nur von hier, der Terasse eines ziemlich schicken Restaurants hat man einen relativ freien Blick.
Da ich ein Foto machen wollte, jedoch nicht vor hatte hier zu essen, habe ich mich heimlich auf die leere Terasse geschlichen (zum Glück ist gerade Winter) und mein Stativ in einer dunklen Ecke aufgebaut.
Da ich niemanden bei irgend etwas gestört habe denke ich, dass geht soweit in Ordnung.
Ich möchte allerdings betonen, das ich über keinerlei Zäune geklettert bin um mir Zutritt zu verschaffen. Das ginge dann deutlich zu weit und ich würde das Foto sausen lassen (was auch schon mehrfach passiert ist).
