Die Karte ist für eine GTX 580 sehr leise, selbst unter Last nicht zu hören. Sie bleibt dabei auch sehr Kühl im Idle 33C° bei 30% Fan Speed und unter volllast 56C° ca45%-50% Fan Speed. Die Verarbeitung des Kühlers ist sehr hochwertig und sieht sehr gut aus. Wichtig ist aber auch, dass die Karte 2,5 Slots belegt, also mehr Platz benötigt als das Referenzdesign (also keine Phantom). Die Karte gibt es auch in einer 3 GB Version. Allerdings bringen zurzeit 3 GB keinen Vorteil, wenn man nicht sehr hohe Auflösungen und Texturmods verwendet oder ein SLI Verbund benutzt. Aufgrund der leiseren und besseren Kühlun sowie der hohen Leistung bekommt die Karte von mir 5 Sterne und eine klare Kaufempfehlung, wenn man den Preisunterschied zur GTX 570 für ca 15 % Mehrleistung nicht scheut, ist die GTX580 Phantom die richtige Wahl! Der Stromverbrauch ist auch nicht hoch für die Leistung. Im Idle 106 Watt und unter Last grade mal 346 Watt! Die Angaben beziehen sich aber auf den Gesamten Rechner (I7 2600K, Asus P8P67, GTX580 Phantom, 2 Festplatten, 1 Laufwerk, und 4 120iger Lüfter). Im 3DMark Vantage ereichte die GTX580 Satte 25985 Punkte!

Originally planned to have watercooling but didn't notice I had forgotten to order that until I unpacked the machine....but apparantly the INTEL cooling block that came with the 980X CPU is one of the top-performers so I'll stick with that.
Was worried that the fan-pack that came with the memory-kit would block the CPU airflow but it seems to stay cool.

This video chip served me well, it had no problems running Doom 3, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Counter-Strike: Source and Quake 4. Times change, and so does my taste in computers. This pc will be replaced by an iMac Core Duo in a few weeks...
