Undated photo post card of the citadel gate in Aleppo.
Bought a group of slides and photos and audio tapes belonging to C.T. Hutcheson of Kansas City area. Believe he was a Christian Missionary - most of the pictures appear to be of Syria, and the slides are home life in the US.

Gate 3 of the Seven Gates to Hell between Troy and Collinsville.
In the very heart of Manila, which Dan Brown called the Gates of Hell, a heavenly celebration will happen tomorrow at the San Sebastián Basilica.
It will be a celebration of Sacred Music; a celebration of Filipino talents and charity; a celebration of that wonderful artistic treasure called the San Sebastián Basilica: the MUSICA SACRA FESTIVAL 2013.
Even upon the GATES OF HELL, God descends to raise us up. A way for Him to do this is through art.

On Chorlton Road on the Whalley Range Chorlton Border (or ChoBo as my manager calls it) are these gates labelled Crimsworth. The sun was catching them in such a way that I noticed their beauty.
No idea what the significance is - I imagine they were just the family living here.
Tiananmen Gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace), which connects the Forbidden City to Tiananmen Square. The bridge in the foreground crosses a small moat. Mao, whose enormous image still looms over the entry, proclaimed the formation of the People's Republic of China from this spot.

India Gate is the pride of Delhi. An imposing structure, the gate was built in memory to the of the 90,000 Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I. Situated at the at the end of Rajpath, the India Gate is 42 meters high and is a popular as a relaxation area during the summer evenings and a popular picnic spot during winter. Initially called All India War Memorial, the gate was designed and built by Lutyens who is also credited with the designing of New Delhi, the capital of India.
Located down one of the alleys near home. This has got to be one of the beefiest built wooden gates I have ever seen.

The Gate of the San Francisco de Asis mission church in Ranchos de Taos New Mexico. Built completely of timber and adobe mud. Painted four times by Georgia OKeeffe and photographed by both Paul Strand and Ansel Adams. Finished in a retro style.
I spotted this beautiful old wrought iron gate this morning. The wear and rust indicated that the gate could use some tender loving care, but for the most part it was still in good shape. I probably walked past this gate a couple of hundred times in my lifetime, but today I had my camera with me and when I slowed down to look I discovered how intricate the gate is and it caused me to appreciate the artistry and skill of the gate maker.
This gate links the citadel to the main fort. It is named after a Saint Shah Chandwali who refused to get his wages for working on this gate. The saint died while still on work and was buried near the gate. His shrine still stands to this day.
This gate is also a double gate. The outer gate, the entrance of which is from the citadel is 13.3 meters wide and 8.23 meters deep. The inner gate is a simple archway which is 3.66 meters wide

This striking Medinilla has translucent pale bluish-white petals over burgundy calyxes and flower stems. The common name is Chandelier Plant, which refers to the flower structures hanging decorative shape that resembles a chandelier. The flowers mature into red berries that turn a deep magenta as they age. Medinilla is a genus of about 190 species in the family Melastomataceae. The genus Medinilla was named in 1820 after J. de Medinilla, governor of the Mariana Islands, which are off the coast of the Philippines.
