I'd started working on this a number of years ago. Not for any specific purpose, just because I did a sketch of it in high school and thought it was a cool idea.
Even though this isn't a naturally occurring scene - I suspect the fern leaf was put above the gasmask by a previous visitor - I find it quite funny and worth shooting :)

RPD
The RPD is somewhat based off of SBR variants used by Rhodesian soldiers; namely a shortened barrel, wooden foregrip, and PK-style skeleton stock. I added a cone flash suppressor because 1) it would seem somewhat useful to mask your appearance in the dark tunnels of the metro, 2) not too many small arms seem to use cone suppressors any more and I wanted to do something different, and 3) because it looks cool. Other features are the flashlight taped to the side of the hand guard, a cloth chin rest on the stock, and the custom ammo belt made from a BA gunner vest.

While in the Metro games the Duplet would be the equivalent of a double barrel shotgun, I was going more for a pre-war weapon that had been maintained over the years; but just barely. I mostly based it around a Norinco JW2000. I didn't put quite as much extra detail as the RPD. The only real "post-apocalypse-y" mod is the duct tape on the handguard and barrels (maybe to hold them together better?). I was thinking about adding a stock saddle with pouches, but never got around to it before going through with painting.
Aside from that there's a GP-5 gas mask meant for Yosif, but I really doubt it would work very well irl with a K6-3 visor. There's also a kukri standing in for a blade I'm currently working on also meant for Yosif.

Watch V2 - revised inner flat spot to help locate the watch when the wrist is rotated, also more contrast in the watch face detail.

Great for letting people know you are entering a Nuclear Fallout Zone or that there is a really stinky family of skunks living in the area.
