Southbound Route 4 turns left from southbound Fifth Avenue to eastbound J Street in the Gaslamp Quarter in the 1980s. This area has sure changed. The Spaghetti Factory on the left is still there, yet substantially upgraded, but the TM Cobb factory across Fifth Avenue is now a Hilton Hotel with restaurants and retail stores fronting the street.

New Gaslamp Quarter Trolley Station signage, as demanded by the Klingons. Mercifully, the Klingons allowed MTS to keep two directional signs in English ("To Downtown San Diego," as seen in this photo, and "To 12th & Imperial" on the opposite platform). However, it was commanded that all other signage at this station be translated into Klingon.

Direct translation of the Klingon signs:

------

Do not discard garbage on the ground! Also, do not feed the birds!!

Thanks to Klingon language experts Steven Boozer (Voragh), Chris Lipscombe (qurgh), and Michael Roney, Jr. (naHQun), MTS was able to answer the Klingons' demand of posting Klingon-language signage, thus assuring the safe passage of Comic-Con attendees.
