Painted "Rock City" (located in Chattanooga, TN) barns have been around since 1935. From that time until 1969, Clark Byers painted about 900 barns throughout 19 southern states.
Many of these barns have now fallen or been torn down, while others have been painted over. You can still find some of them throughout the southeast, and there have been several that's been painted by others since Byers hung up his paintbrush.

Mindfulness, a practice rooted in ancient meditation traditions, is gaining traction in modern society as a powerful tool for mental clarity and well-being. This technique involves maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment through a gentle, nurturing lens.
By fostering a heightened state of consciousness, individuals can break free from the autopilot mode often induced by the fast-paced nature of contemporary life.
Recent studies underscore the myriad benefits of mindfulness, which range from reduced stress and anxiety to improved focus and emotional regulation. Advocates argue that incorporating mindfulness into daily routines can lead to enhanced overall health, promoting a more balanced and fulfilling life.
As the practice continues to garner mainstream attention, its potential as a remedy for the mental health challenges of our time becomes increasingly apparent.
Be in the moment, embrace the calm and just breathe.

"Changes" is a song by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, originally released on his 1971 album Hunky Dory. RCA Records then released it as a single from the album on 7 January 1972. Written following his promotional tour of America in early 1971, "Changes" was recorded at Trident Studios in London between June and July that year.
At this point in his career, Bowie had experimented with numerous musical styles, all of which failed to earn him stardom. The lyrics of "Changes" reflect this, with the first verse focusing on the compulsive nature of artistic reinvention and distancing oneself from the rock mainstream. Musically, "Changes" is an art pop song that features a distinctive piano riff. Upon release as a single, "Changes" flopped like its parent album. It wasn't until the success of its follow-up The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars that the song garnered success.
Retrospectively, "Changes" is regarded as one of Bowie's best songs, with many praising Bowie's vocal performance and Wakeman's piano playing. His biographers have viewed the track as a manifesto of his entire career, predicting a constant change of musical styles. Bowie performed "Changes" frequently during his concert tours; it was the final song he performed on stage before his death in 2016.
I didn't a chance to get up north this year and shoot trains in the Fall colors. And since the passenger season is over and the freights run at night shots from last year will have to suffice. 4318 leads the northbound Denali Star through the curve at Garner. No drone is necessary here and wouldn't have been advisable anyway with the strong winds present this day. The former roadbed can be seen to the right of the train which leads to the former Garner Tunnel, currently bypassed by the railroad but it still exist for MOW.

Iowa Chicago & Eastern train 942 heads west on the Mason City Subdivision at Garner, IA. At one time, Garner had been the location of a diamond between the Milwaukee Road and the Rock Island, but by 2006 the lines were owned by the IC&E and Union Pacific, respectively. In this photo, the train is seen on the outskirts of town passing the west distant signal for the diamond.
Train 942 was a Spencer, IA based local that normally operated at the west end of the subdivision between Spencer and Sheldon, but the crew was called upon this day to forward feeder grain empties west out of Mason City. Train 940, the normally assigned job on this part of the line, usually operated at night.
