Day 97 - Today was my FGR day! Thanks to my friend Jill I decided on the group "Unusual Looking." I hope I've achieved the look, this is one of the rare photos I had to take in the morning. After work I went out to happy hour with some of my coworkers and didn't make it back until SUPER late...er EARLY the next morning. With way fewer than my usual number of hours of sleep I somehow had to make my 7:30 plane back to NJ. Thank God I remembered to push the plane forward an hour on Monday.

Wanted to be different and a little creative so I decided to channel my inner Joel and do a doodle of my coffee for today. Looks delicious, don't it? ;-)

For FGR and Bokeh-holics Anonymous. I had a rare night out last night and just managed to take a few shots before I walked out the door. I thoroughly enjoyed myself but lack of sleep and a few too many drinks have left me recovering today...

(I'm interested to see if anyone gets the title reference - it links to a group I thought of creating for my FGR pick but discounted it as too obscure.)

There were 18 Monarch caterpillars on our milkweed on Thursday. Yesterday they had totally denuded one of the milkweed and were wandering on the ground. We'll see what happens next ... that's lantana in the background.

Flickr Group Roulette today is about photo cliches. I like flowers. They are one of God's beautiful creations. I don't take many photos of them because others do that so well. So, even though they are beautiful, I think the photos might fall into the cliche category.

I had fun following the tutorial, although I skipped bits and changed others. Two great groups - I shall be going back to look at some more tutorials. I really wish I'd had more time to spend on this as I love playing around with PS!

Since all off the christmas lights are out, and ready to be put outside, I stole them for a bit. I duct taped icicle lights across the shower walls. Note; duct tape doesn't leave a residue :] Way awesome. I am really having toooo much fun with this!!

This shot was inspired by today's FGR pick of Interpreting Beatles songs. Paperback Writer is one of my favourite Beatles songs - it reminds me of going out in my younger days when I first met my husband as we used to love going to sixties nights. (Anyone in Birmingham remember The Ship Ashore - now demolished?)

This is a keepsake book I've just started for my daughter. I started to keep a notebook last year and didn't get round to keeping it up. I found this fab book recently which has photo pages and little pockets to put things in as well as lined pages to write on. It's perfect - especially as it's also black, silver and purple. I finally got round to writing in it today. Hopefully this will be a monthly thing and I can put my photo a week project of her in there too.

Also for Theme of the Week: Gratitude. Every day I am so grateful for the wonderful gift that is my daughter. She is a constant source of wonder to me and I am so grateful that she came into our lives. I want to remember all the little things that make her so special, hence the book.
