I made my first visit to the Sandhills Game Land near Hoffman, NC on a warm and mostly sunny day. I did catch a break with some late-day clouds. These showy pineland phlox are eye-catchers when they emerge from the charred floors of the recently burned forests. The Game Land appears to manage much of their forest acreage by thinning trees and allowing more light to reach the forest floor.

very very bad lighting. i apologize. but it was really bright out. anyways. we (me ian and my dad) went to the pool for like 2 hours to play cards. the pool is absolutely freezing, i cant get in there. i have twice now. in the week that we have been here..oh no three times. and of the three, i have only gotten my hair wet twice. i cant get in. its bad. anyways. we played hearts. ian won. my dad lost. i came in second. woahh. haha. we played a little basketball not much. ian did the minute thing and got 19. getting worse.
