I brought food for the guys to watch the football game (Canadian football is more like American than European, but not quite the same) and retreated to a corner to read.
Eric's hometown team won, so there was much jubilation.

This sketch was from last night's baseball game. Las Vegas 51s vs Salt Lake Bees. The 51s are Toronto Blue Jays' farm team and Salt Lake Bees = Los Angeles of Anaheim Angels.
I might have an opportunity, since there was two ladies sitting directly behind me and my friend, watching how I sketched out the game. They are interested for me to do something for them, I guess I should sketch more out in public often! I just didn't think it would attract "customers" like that...
Well, funny thing is... I didn't get to see what was going on during the game.. At least the 51s won the game. =)

The arcade stick I use when I need to scratch that retro arcade gaming itch. Bought it many many years ago, just got it out and dusted it off - photo opportunity!!
Spent a lot of my youth in the 80's and 90's dropping coins in various arcades. Hanging out in dingy, cramped, loud and smoke filled arcades - to corner Delis, pubs, Fish and Chip / Pizza shops and Bowling alleys - I was born just at the right time to live through and enjoy the golden age of arcade games.
Many modern "amusement" centres are way too sterile feeling, too wholesome, and entirely lacking the charm of the aforementioned dingy, cramped, and most of all, lacking the classic games, of the 80's arcade.
These signs are used in 2008 olypmic game of Beijing, I scaned it at 2006-9,sorry,not clean....but you can choose which one do you like ?

02-01-2009 - Had to move my old-school games (Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, PSP) shelf over to the side of my desk to get everything to fit in the Game Room. Kinda funny, it looks like the Goomba is walking across the top.
New Shimbashi Building, Tokyo Japan.
Very old school game arcade in New Shimbashi building, just right outside of Shimbashi station. This complex is amazing and has lots of flashback scenes. It's like a mini town where B1 collects numbers of izakayas and restaurant. Moving up back to 1F, this is where the competitions among suit, pachinko and other salaryman-related goods intensify. I heard the sale of white shirt here is one of the top rank nationwide. On 2F, there are tons of 'relaxing massage' places, I doubt if those are just ordinary massage shops. Additionally, some adult media shops can be found on the same floor. 3F upward seems abandoned.. not many shops/ businesses survive.
