History
Church in 1828
At the time of its founding, the church was mainly intended for the German population that settled around present-day Běhounska street. Foundation of the church is expected in the period, which is defined by the reign of Vladislav Henry, between the years 1201 to 1222. Was in 1340 in the basement of the house next door, which the church before his death bequeathed the local vicar, established ossuary. From 1368 to 1405 around the church have been established several chapels (Corpus Christi, St. Maurice and St. Ursula), which created a special urban complex.
Construction
Construction of the church, in the form in which it is known that certain amendments to the present day, had already begun before the Hussite wars, but the construction has progressed only to the position of the choir, pillars and perimeter walls. From 1502 he began work on the church builder Anton Pilgram, who founded the northern ship with the portal . Roofing was done probably before 1530. The construction of the church tower began in the 16th century, in 1592 it was increased by A. Gabrie of the clock and completion did Simon Tauch, who put the tower Renaissance dome. The height of the tower is 92 meters. During the Thirty Years' War, the church was not damaged and therefore there was no need to rebuild the church - helping to maintain his predominantly late-Gothic appearance.
The cemetery which was located around the church, has been around since 1784, and with it gradually disappeared also the complex above the chapel. Carte de Visite by Francis Guy of 70 Patrick Street, Cork. Such a solemn little boy. Hopetoun had a twin, Henry John, who died at a few days old, and he never knew his mother, who died when he was an infant. He was brought up at Askive House, Sneem, by his grandparents Henry and Letitia Stokes, along with his elder half brothers Whitley ("Little Whit") and William ("Canada Bill"), who had also lost their mother as infants. Their widowed father Sir Henry Edward Stokes (bro of my gt grandfather Sir Gabriel) was away in India. Photoshopped for better contrast and re-uploaded Nov 2013
These pictures of the two cute kittens I took, are very special to me! They are two kittens out of 6 kittens born 02 July 2007- 03 July 2007. The reason they are so special is that after the birth of my first grandbaby- Little Baby Gabriel being born 18 November 2006 with CDH (Congenitial Diaphramatic Hernia) which eventually took his life after 56 precious days (12 January 2007), we have been in deep mourning from the loss of him. He fought so hard to live. Well, I developed a double bout of pneumonia that I ignored from Dec. to July 02, 2007 when I finally ended up in the hospital and collapsed. They put me on breathing machines, etc.. When I got home, I got a phone call shortly there after at about 5 pm, from my daughter in tears saying she was going to announce on the 19th, but just got out of the hospital after collapsing at work from hemoridging and had been pregnant again, but Dr.'s there had said they could see the sac but no baby & couldn't find a heart beat so she was miscarrying at about 7 weeks I think she said she was. Well, again we mourn just 11 days short of 6 months of loosing our first precious grandbaby Gabrie! 2 babies in 6 months was just too much! That was on monday 02 July 2007, but on Friday 06 July, I get another phone call from my confused daughter, saying the dr. she just visited said that her pregnancy hormones have dramatically increased & she's STILL PREGNANT!! The bad news is that they didn't know if it was alive, & that her Pregesterone levels were so low that she was heading for a miscarriage so they gave her a test trial of pregesterone in hopes to save the baby, but it is experimental & there are no guarantees. We sat there on the phone totally baffled & didn't know whether we should be in mourning, or happy. Even if we were to be happy, she's in danger, and is Gabriel's problem happening all over again? Numb, and confused, we now had to hold our feelings til we knew for sure.. Her sonogram wouldn't be til the 19th so we had to wait 2 long weeks to find out if baby was alive, and ok. The 19th, I get a phone call saying Baby Nava was 'HIDDEN" & it's heartbeat was perfect, loud & sound! Praise God! A Miracle!! Still, because we went through so much with Gabriel, the ups & downs, the fight for life, the loosing him, and then the news your pregnant again but baby is dead so we mourn for 5 days, and now baby is alive & well, we didn't know how to trust anything or how to feel or what to feel. Here it is SEPTEMBER 27, I have gotten another phone call from my daughter Corin saying she had massive tests today at Yale, and baby is just fine, healthy & sound, perfect weight, height & size with great heartbeat & IT'S A GIRL!! Just like Rose Ferron had told me! (I had told everyone all along, that I was told in May that Corin was pregnant again, that the baby was being "hidden", a Angel was guarding, and protecting it, and that it was a GIRL!", BUT I know they didn't believe me, LOL. I teased my daughter about that today- LOL. She was here yesterday & showed me the baby's heartbeat how it is 145-147 so it is probably a BOY, and I teased her playfully again & said no, that is not what I heard-it's a Girl! LOL. So when she gave me the news today, I just had to playfully tease her & said, Rose wasn't kidding! LOL (smile). Praise God, he has blessed us another precious grandbaby and SHE is OK!! What a sweet Little Miracle!
Well, getting back to 02 July 2007, when I get out of hospital from pneumonia, & my daughter gets out from loosing our 2nd grandbaby within 6 months, and we are mourning badly, I get another phone call that night about 9:00 ca. from my daughter who was mourning something awful. She now says, Ma, You know that kitten (barely not a Cat yet- she's young) who just came to my house last week? I said, yes, well, I have a problem, she's delivering babies right now in front of me!! Well, I almost fell to the floor, as I didn't know if this was going to be a good thing, while we are just freshly mourning this very day, but there was no choice, and so we spent the night from 02 July- 03rd all night, delivering babies by phone, one by one, she gave me updates, & I guided her. These kittens, ended up being a "good blessing" during a time, we were so confused, and lost. We didn't have time to mourn or think, as we helped deliver them. We spent the entire night up, sharing the joy of LIFE rather than the thought of LOSS, and for the next 5 days, while we did mourn, they helped us get through it til we found a new somewhat joy on the 6th. Isn't it amazing how things can turn around? How a strange kitten herself would be pregnant & choose my daughter, a stranger to this cat, pregnant herself, to come to ask for help in delivering her babies? One of these cats should have been named Angel in my eyes, as to my thinking it was almost as if a Angel sent this Mother Kitten to my daughter to help her through a very odd time! Whatever, life can bring, these cute kittens, did bring us some incredible joy & peace and to me will always be very special because of the odd circumstances they were born under! All of them have new homes now but the Mother Kitten & 1 baby is left as my daughter trys to find a good home for them too... and prepares for her 2nd baby to come........
