A fisherman had just left their "catch of the day" alone on one of the fish-gutting tables along the pier. Apparently three-inches just doesn't provide the sort of sport you show off to your friends.

from that one cannibal film - cannibal holocaust... made to be like a documentary. you cant make me say 'mockumentary'... nope.

 

i did minor tampering to this image in ms paint to remove some uncecessary stuff..

 

ps. ive never seen cannibal holocaust. nor do i want to.

A few hours later: I've been to the Harris Cyclery, jawed with their fiendishly knowledgeable and yet totally approachable wizards, hunted down every lock washer, cone, pawl pin and other part that I needed (Dude looked at my little plastic bag of fiddly bits and said, "Pay the guy up front $20. It's not worth totting it all up.") and scrubbed, scoured and scraped every part in the original hub. The kitchen reeks of simple green and dissolved motor oil, and my hands will probaby be slightly smelly and greasy for a day or so. But everything is organized, accounted for and dried off. These fifty-some-odd parts are now ready to be turned into a working hub!
