I decided to try one of the local goods: smoked fish. I had no idea how they were eaten, so I desperately used my hand signals (at this point becoming fluent in gestures) for help. These things are smoked whole, guts and all, and there are steps to pull them out before being eaten. It's a messy process... for me anyway. Colonel Vladimir, a commander of the Russian Strategic Forces, was sitting on his bunk looking out the corner of his eye and giggling.
Muskegon, which had once been a port for the grandest of the auto ferries ( "The Milwaukee Clipper") slid by nearly unnoticed....as Ash described the Frisbee Championships. Every year a few teams of devoted players of this non-organized, non-traditional, yet highly competitive "game" would come from Berkley, Madison, Harvard and a dozen or so other university towns to the remote Upper Peninsula, dotted with former mining towns, to battle simply for glory, just as the ancient Greeks at Olympia. On fields delineated by beer cans, they gave it their best, rewarded by free lunches and a hand-crafted brew, compliments of a local innkeeper.
This is some of the inside of my new computer. I built it the other day. Huge thanks to Josh for helping me find all the parts and helping me build it all properly. I'm really happy with it's performance!
