Celebrating 50 years of the Legendary GTO: The Ferrari 250 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) was commissioned by Enzo Ferrari to beat the Jaguar E-type on the track. Styled by Sergio Scaglietti, just 39 examples of this consummate sports-racing car were built over two years, and they have become the most sought-after Ferraris of all time. Fifteen Ferrari GTOs were assembled at the Goodwood Revival for a series of spectacular daily parade laps; some also raced.

The old GTO's are some of the nicest looking muscle cars, especially the ones built between '64-'67. This one showed up to Cruise Night one week last summer.
1969 Pontiac GTO with the "Judge" option. Seen in the preferred parking area at Burls Creek Automotive Flea market earlier this month.

A favorite of mine I snapped a few years back - thought it would make a nice addition to this photostream. It says "LeMans" on the interior door. What's the story behind that?
For 1974, the GTO moved from the mid-size LeMans platform to the compact Ventura X-body. This was, mercifully, the last year for the GTO, and would stay that way for almost 30 years.
One of my buddies had one of these as a teenager, and of course it ended up totaled, wedged under the trailer of a semi making a left turn.
Pontiac GTO crossing Wills Creek and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad/Great Allegheny Passage in Downtown Cumberland, MD.
No, the GTO isn't a piece of shit Pontiac your Dad used to drive. This GTO has a well bred history that spans into the 1950's. And please understand that the Boxer isn't an ill tempered mutt.

Harley Cluxton's 1962 250 GTO, chassis #3387 (1st in class, 2nd overall, 1962 Sebring) at the 2004 Monterey Historics
1970 PONTIAC GTO FOR SALE SEEN HERE AT A CLASSIC CAR DEALERSHIP NEAR FREEPORT, MAINE, USA. 18/AUGUST/2008.
I dumped the Eclipse this afternoon (good riddance) and picked up this beauty. It's a limited edition Pulse Red 2004 GTO that was leftover on the dealer's lot. The last 800 2004 GTOs were painted this color. The interior is black and charcoal leather with a silver gauge package and red embroidered GTO emblems on the seats. Rumor has it they were to be 40th anniversary cars. Never did I think I would own a red car or a new GTO much less a new red GTO.
