The name GTO was John DeLorean's idea. It was inspired by Ferrari's 250 GTO and is Italian abbreviation for Gran Tourismo Omologato. Omologato is Italian for homolagated which means "certified to race in the Grand Tourer class".
These were so powerful for their weight, that my high school buddy, upon graduating from Merchant Marine school, bought a new one off the lot and within a block of driving it off the lot, spun out and smashed it up against a telephone pole.
One of the very finest of the 1980s. The rarest of Ferrari’s supercars. The 129th of only 272 examples produced for Group B homologation. 400 bhp, 2,855 cc DOHC mid-mounted V-8 engine with twin IHI turbochargers, Behr intercoolers, and Weber-Marelli electronic fuel injection, five-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

1964 was the first model year for the storied GTO. It is said to have been the model that kicked off the musclecar era. This is the 2-door sedan version.
The GTO inspired a hit song "Little GTO" in 1964 by Ronny and the Daytonas.
In English-speaking cultures, envy is often associated with the color green, as in "green with envy". This is not your usual red GTO, but anyway, it sure makes you feel envious, doesn't it?
Of the 81,722 Pontiac GTOs built for '67, 13,827 were equipped with the HO engine. It cost $77 extra and added a higher-lift camshaft, free-flow exhaust manifolds, and an open-element air cleaner.
been getting into classic muscle recently, after seeing the work of makehastecorp and Aaron Beck's Cuda which you may have seen my model of before. I had been wondering what it would look like to take this "minimalist muscle car" approach to one of my favorites, the '67 GTO. When je_brickworks announced he was hosting a restomod contest it was the perfect opportunity to try it. Any trim has been removed, a massive intake has been added, racing interior, rear bumper cut down, and a livery inspired by some of the aforementioned designers works. also tried to go for a more intense photo style.
Ferrari 599 GTO cruising up to LFSC Concours this past weekend. Such an amazing machine to see cruising down the highway. Full shoot of this beast will be taking place soon, so stay tuned!

The awesome black Ferrari 599 GTO among many other exotics in the garage.
The headlights of this car shine in pretty much any direction so it was pretty hard to get shots from the front of the car while the lights where turned on. I don't like the flare that much but it was impossible to get rid of it during processing.
