1984 - 1985
Als Reminiszenz an den legendären Ferrari GTO von 1962 bezeichnete Ferrari den 1984/85 in nur 272 Strassen-Exemplaren gebauten 288 GTO auch als "Gran Turismo Omologato", als Homologations-GT. Bei seiner Präsentation auf dem Genfer Salon war er mit 400 PS der bis dahin stärkste je gebaute Ferrari für die Strasse - und begründete die Tradition der Supersportwagen von Ferrari, die in der Jubilee Preview 70 Jahre Ferrari im Classic en Prestige Salon gezeigt werden. Heute gehört er zu den begehrtesten Sammler-Autos der Marke Ferrari.

I took this photograph in the paddock at Silverstone at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting in July 1997. These four cars, all Ferrari 250 GTOs, took part in the Coys of Kensington Ferrari GT Race. All four cars have the 2,953cc Tipo 168/62 Gioacchino Colombo designed V12 engine, the two cars on the left being 1962 cars, and the two on the right 1963. The first car on the left is that of Paul Pappalardo, chassis 5111GT, and originally supplied to French driver Jean Guichet who used it to win the Tour de France in 1963. The next car is chassis 4713GT, one of Anthony Wang's cars, which was driven in the race by Louis Sellyei and is unusual in that it has a Pinin Farina 330 LM body. It was originally owned by Luigi Chinetti and its first major race was the 1963 Le Mans 24 Hour race where it was driven to sixth place overall by David Piper and Masten Gregory. The third car is another of Anthony Wang's cars, chassis 3769GT, and he drove this one in the race himself. This car's first owner was Fernand Tavano, and he and André Simon gave this car its first major outing in the 1962 Le Mans 24 Hour race but failed to finish. The last car is the 1962 car of Peter Sachs, chassis 4091GT, which started off with the 1962 GTO bodywork but was re-bodied in December 1963 with a 1964 style body. It was first owned by Sergio Bettoja, but does not appear to have taken part in any major events until it was entered in the 1964 Tour de France where it was driven by Ludivico Scarfiotti and Giampiero Biscaldi. It failed to finish the event.

While I was waiting around for our rockabilly photo shoot to get started, I decided to experiment with some creative lighting (mainly by throwing my speedlight under the cars and blasting light straight up). More often than not, it didn't work in any interesting way, but I did get one or two captures that were pretty inspired. Yay for experimentation!

599 GTO
The Ferrari 599 (internal code F141) is an Italian sports car produced by Ferrari. It was the brand's two-seat flagship, replacing the 575M Maranello in 2006 as a 2007 model, but was replaced for the 2013 model year by the F12berlinetta.
Styled by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari's Frank Stephenson, the 599 GTB debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in February 2006. It is named for its total engine displacement (5999 cc), Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature, and the Fiorano Circuit test track used by Ferrari.
On 8 April 2010, Ferrari announced official details of the 599 GTO.[6] The car is a road-going version of the 599XX and Ferrari says that the 599 GTO is their fastest road car ever, able to lap the Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute 24 seconds, one second faster than the Enzo Ferrari. Its engine produces 670 PS (493 kW; 661 bhp) at 8250 rpm, with 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque at 6500 rpm.[7] Ferrari claims the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph).[7] At 1,605 kilograms (3,538 lb), the 599 GTO weighs almost 100 kg (220 lb) less than the standard GTB.[8] Production is limited to 599 cars. Of these, approximately 125 were produced for the United States market. Ferrari has given only two other models the GTO designation: the 1962 250 GTO and the 1984 288 GTO.[9] Unlike the previous GTOs however, the 599 GTO was not designed for homologation in any racing series.

First generation of very successful model line - Pontiac GTO. This is GTO 389 from 1966 know also as tripower. The model was made for LUGNuts challenge "Two of a kind" as one of the parner moels. Other was fourth generation GTO - a tuner vershion from 2004.

She Had a 400cid motor with ram air Hood scoops , Holly Street Dominator High Rise Intake, Holly 780 Double Pumper Carb, Hooker Headers, Flowmaster Straight Through Racing Mufflers, B&M Street Strip 400 Transmission with a B&M Magnum Grip Street Bandit Shifter, Factory 3.23 rear end, ET Diamond Spoke Mag Wheels, G60-14 Uniroyal Tiger Paws(front) , L60-15 Uniroyal Tiger Paws (rear), Leather Racing Bucket Seats, Pioneer Cassette Stereo with 4/ 6X9 4 way speakers, and a custom Chrome Barefoot Gas Pedal.
One Saturday night, for reasons I won't get into (friend in back seat got in fight with a guy from a rival High School) I had at least 20 cars chasing me down Topeka Boulevard. I turned into the side streets behind "White Lakes Mall" to try and lose them. Put my foot to the floor and at the last second made a hard left at around 70 mph. I lost every car but the Corvette. But we got away

OK, not really. But a custom shop in Florida brought these up. Using a new Camaro, they have available Trans-Ams or GTOs. All you need is the donor Camaro and a spare $30K to $40K.
