De Sint-Romboutskathedraal in Mechelen is de hoofdkerk van het aartsbisdom Mechelen-Brussel. Als zetel van de metropoliet van de Belgische kerkprovincie is zij de metropolitane kerk van België. De kathedraal is vooral beroemd vanwege de ruim 97 meter hoge toren met zijn twee beiaarden. De toren is als onderdeel van een groep van 56 belforten en kerktorens in België en Frankrijk opgenomen op de lijst van werelderfgoed ID 943-016 van UNESCO.
The central square of Brussels (Grand Place) is a breathtakingly beautiful small square. On the left is the medieval Brussels Town Hall that stands 96 metres (315 feet) tall and was built between 1402 and 1455. Best wishes from New Zealand to the people of Belgium.
The Grand Place of Buxelles is quite busy, but today it was empty and plenty of shops and restaurants closed
