Grace has to be given medicine twice a day for an underactive thyroid, which is given to her in the pantry with her food, away from the others, So we went through a phase of not being able to go into the pantry without a cat dashing in. Now the door is guarded by a watchful Grace.
Grace is one of Insol's recent releases and is to be found at the current round of Tres Chic. [read more...]

I've decided that one of my favourite flowers has to be the ranunculus. The colours range from elegantly muted to vibrant, and those petals are so beautiful.
I'm a big fan of the Dutch Masters so I was hoping to produce something that was remotely reminiscent of those great works.

Well I just received an outstanding set of compliments from my love Kelsey, I'll take an extraordinary picture of us and do the same, soon :)
a stem of clover in a puddle: simple elegance. we’re surrounded by everyday moments of grace. they stop me in my tracks, if i’m open and aware. just like love cultivates love, grace invites more grace.

Banning fires within Canyonlands National Park preserves the beauty of its trees in all stages of life.
my grandparents. i don't know exactly when this photograph was made, but i would guess some time in the late-1920s. they would have been in their mid-20s. grace and joe. he loved photography, though he was not a professional photographer. i remember learning about cameras with him when i was a little boy. he appreciated my fascination with his twin-lens reflex camera, either a hasselblad or a rollei, i don't remember which. i do remember learning to think upside down when framing a shot and thinking about parallax just a little bit. he bought a super-8 movie camera in the late-1950s (i think) and made movies, too. quite an interesting person to have as a grandfather. my grandmother ran the china and silver department at the big department store in downtown columbia, sc. she had quite an eye for beautiful things. my mother is moving to a new apartment, so we are finding all kinds of treasures as we downsize. sigh ...

Grace Episcopal Church is located in Madison, Wisconsin, on the westward side of the Capitol Square. It was designed by James Douglas and was built in 1855.
Taken a couple of weeks ago with Leighton. He shot Grace's mum for her graduation pics and I rattled off a few of the kids. Grace was a right little poser and certainly not camera shy!
I loved the gracefulness of this one dark blue stem against the colorful background of the rest of the meadow.
I caught sight of these bursting PeaceLily buds and thought they were the most beautiful flowers. This hasn't quite translated to the photo -- but I still like them.

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come
This grace that brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright, shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see
