One of my very favourite flowers - a trip out to see them in local woodland means the true beginning of spring to me.

It was wonderful to see the bluebells beginning to emerge too.

Embrace the future. Do not linger in what was, but join the journey of life.

Installation at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco

The installation is a series of light pathways representing connections between heaven and earth that manifest as ribbons. The ribbons are meant to carry prayers, dreams and wishes skyward, and, in turn, grace streams down the ribbons back to people.

I had seen this warbler once before a few years ago, but that little guy flew from its perch before I could get my lens on him.

So I had to keep trying. The Grace's Warbler nests in higher elevations in mature pines. They hang out in the upper reaches, which makes photographing them difficult.

They are not difficult to find if sought on breeding grounds. I chose a mountain side near Price, Utah, to look for this warbler of the West. I walked the several miles up the road listening for it (and looking for its favored pines). A bird or two would come in, but they wouldn't hang around for long.

And look at its small size. It is perching on needles!!

Sadly its numbers are falling as its habitats are disappearing. Hopefully, we find the sense to protect their forests so this species and others will survive.

Just walking the dog while recovering from my illness, we came upon this magical scene in the woods. I don't know about Zak, but it lifted my spirit intensely. The light was wonderful and the trees ... well, they were so wonderfully graceful and welcoming with their beauty and silence. Had to 'paint' this scene ... and I hope you like it too. I always knew what I'd call this picture.

Here's a bit of music you might like too. I do - always have since I was introduced to it by my sons a few years back now. The whole album is terrific, by the same name - Grace.

Wide-open. The idea is that God's habit of having little darlings and favourites leads to massive inequalities in terms of the distribution of divine grace. We can't leave such important things to God but must organise things ourselves. That mill could be a start.

For literally decades I have passed this beautiful church but usually I was always in a rush as I always had to be someplace to go or people to meet. This day was no better I was busy to heading downtown to cover the Halloween Parade but at least this day I grabbed a quick shot and decided to look up the history. Finished in 1846 in was designed James Renwick Jr. in French Gothic Revival Style. It's walls were built out of Sing Sing Marble from a nearby quarry next to historic Sing Sing Prison were the inmates were hired out to cut out the stone as a cost saving measure. The original spire was wood but was replaced with a stone spire in 1888. When the church opened it became very popular with many of the wealthiest families in the city as it outclassed many of the simpler wooden churches that existed in the city at the time. During the mid 20th century it was designated a New York City Landmark and now also enjoys National Landmark Status.

A group of mute swans (Cygnus olor) were battling fast flowing water of River Avon in the attempt to at level with people on the pavement. All were in their immature plumage, except this one. Bath, BANES, England, U.K.

A Swan, a lovely one.

I may be a bit random in the next couple of weeks and probably won't be around much.

Sorry to my lovely contacts and friends.

!! Y'all commented before I added my description !! ;-p

Grace is not part of consciousness; it is the amount of light in our souls, not knowledge nor reason.

Today's rose is 'Grace', an apricot coloured, fragrant, heritage rose. This is a David Austin rose.

Growing here at Galston, in the Hills District of Sydney.

So obviously 'Amazing Grace' is quite a famous song. There are SO many versions. This is a version by the Kingdom Choir, a gospel choir from London (who famously performed at the wedding of Princess Markle - my MOST favourite Royal).

Grace Cathedral. Gothic revival church, newer than it looks. The far end of the building was built in the 1920’s and 30’s, the section I’m standing in was only built in the 1960’s. A steel framed building with poured concrete. Lewis Hobart, architect.

Yantic Falls in Norwich, Connecticut is one of the main attractions in the area. The family visited the area on a hot day and this may have been the highlight. The general area of the falls comes across as a rural area, but the town is fairly built up with a good amount of 'low key' historic venues.

Edits: one stick straddling the edge of falls is removed.

Hope you have a wonderful Monday.

Morning light on Skyline Ridge, Stevens Pass, Washington

New year, new adventures! Yesterday I headed up to the mountains to snowshoe the Grace Lakes trail, a new trail for me, in an area I had not previously explored in the winter.

It was an incredible day, with some of the best snow conditions I have snowshoed in for a long time. And I knew it was going to be a special, after it rained for most of the drive up, but then the clouds lifted as I approached the Pass, and just as I was heading out on the trail, the sun crested the ridge and set the mountains alight.
