Luckily, the crew had just enough time to make it back to Decatur in one day, allowing for a nice evening run along the P&E and Bloomington District.

Arriving at Tallinn's Balti Jaam (Baltic Station) is GoRail Tep70 diesel locomotive number 0320, working the overnight sleeping car train from Moscow Passazhirskaya station.

After an hour of waiting the secon Orlen fuel train arrives, this time with 2TE116-1366, my personal favorite of the three 2TE116 GoRail operates.

A proud monument to Russian engineering, this is SZD L-2317, a 2-10-0 freight locomotive built by the Soviet Union at Kolomna near Moscow in 1954. The locomotive belongs to the Soviet Union's L-Series of freight locomotives, and powered vital traffic such as coal and ore across the USSR until the 1980's. Eventually, its work brought it to Estonia, where it was semi-retired, its boiler kept fired to heat local houses in Tallinn. Today, it resides on its own little track near the Balti Jaam, still as magnificent as it was back in the dark days of the Cold War.

Railway tracks with trains at the Leningrad station. Train arriving at the Leningrad Station in Moscow, Russia. Leningradsky istation (Russian: , Leningradsky vokzal) is the oldest of Moscow's nine principal railway stations. Situated on Komsomolskaya Square, the station serves north-western directions, notably Saint Petersburg. International services from the station include Tallinn, Estonia, operated by GoRail, and Helsinki, Finland.

The GORAIL is a great logo

Leningradsky station (Russian: Ленингра́дский вокза́л, Leningradsky vokzal) is the oldest of Moscow's nine principal railway stations. Situated on Komsomolskaya Square, the station serves north-western directions, notably Saint Petersburg. International services from the station include Tallinn, Estonia, operated by GoRail, and Helsinki, Finland.

The station was constructed between 1844 and 1851 to an eclectic design by Konstantin Thon as the terminus of the Moscow-Saint Petersburg Railway, a pet project of Emperor Nicholas I. Regular connection was opened in 1851. Initially it was known as Peterburgsky (i.e., St Petersburg station). Upon the Emperor's death five years later, the station was named Nikolayevsky (and the railway Nikolayevskaya) after him and retained this name until 1924, when the Bolsheviks renamed it Oktyabrsky Station (and the railway Oktyabrskaya), to commemorate the October Revolution. The present name was given a year later when the city of Petrograd became Leningrad.

Thon's design follows closely that of the station's counterpart in St. Petersburg. The monotonous regularity of rustication and pilasters is enlivened with Italianate details (ground floor windows strongly reminiscent of the Palazzo Rucellai) and an elegant clocktower at the centre (probably inspired by the Palazzo Senatorio in Rome). Even more rigorous is the exterior of the nearby Moscow Customs House (1844–1852), also by Thon. The interior of the station was modernized and renovated in 1950 and 1972.

The GoRail locomotive of Norfolk Southern made an appearance in Berea in the motive power consist of the eastbound 20R. Although it was the trailing unit, there was enough space between its nose and the first well car to show some nose detail.

So it was my first sighting of this one. Not a good shot of course but it was as close as I could get. I actually had to walk into the yard a little. Not a smart choice but... SD60E Enola, PA
