Two passerby try to hurriedly cross the tracks at Augusta, GA's famous 6th street, oblivious to the incoming NS 191 led by the "Go Rail' Unit.
Country: Estonia
Location: Tapa
Train: GoRail TEP70 0320 with fast train 30 from Moskau to Tallinn
The NS 6963 "Gorail" unit is on the point but I hardly cared what it was - I was just happy to get a train in this beautiful foggy sunrise setting. 9/4/16
Blizzard-like conditions have moved into Crawford County as Norfolk Southern's GoRail locomotive leads 170 through North Robinson, Ohio.
After a morning filled with rain showers, the sun breaks through the clouds with the arrival of Norfolk Southern's GoRail themed locomotive.
I woke up to a couple texts asking where NS 212 was; the Norfolk Southern intermodal train had the GoRail SD60E leading. The last reports had it about three hours late out of Lynchburg, VA and that's usually enough of a delay to be a daylight run on the winning side of the Mason-Dixon Line. I looked at ATCS and saw a hot shot nearby lined all the way up the Lurgan and figured it had to be it.
I woke my son up, quickly got dressed and headed for the tracks. The top of the sun was just peaking over South Mountain as we heard the locomotives run the grade up out of Shippensburg. The sun reached the valley floor just in time to grab the green machine among the local greenery at Lees Cross Roads.

You can see how much this loaded ethanol train has climbed in elevation the last half mile as they fight the 1.3% grade west of Winthrop. Between Jesup and Manchester, grades in alot of places are well over 1%. The train has lost almost 15 mph just in this picture. It's like playing on your favorite roller coaster.

[NL] Bovenstaande foto is gemaakt in….
[EN] Tallinn Balti jaam is the main station of Estonia’s capital. The station has 9 tracks and almost all Estonian train services start or end at this station. Tracks no. 1 and 2 are a little bit further away from the station building, however are the most photogenic if you ask me. A picture I still wanted before I would leave Estonia, was one with trains on track 1 and 2, with the big letters of Tallinn in the background. This requires some precision work with all those light poles, benches and catenary, but somehow I succeeded. On track 1 (right), EMU 1316 which still has 45 minutes before it will leave to Aegviidu. On track 2 (left), DEMU 2404 that brought me from Tartu to Tallinn, and soon will leave for an eastbound service to Narva.

As a cloud opens up (thankfully), NS 17N rolls through the CD-259 signals just west of Port Clinton, OH, with NS 6963, the GoRail, leading. I am glad I got this sucker hole, or else I would've had to come back again. It looks like the new signal off to the left blew over at some point, which is interesting. I have photographed 90% of the westbound facing NYC G-Type signals between CD-232 and CD-259 which is an accomplishment for me.

A large group of railfans gathered in the Harrisburg, PA area on 2/27/16 to photograph the NS Interstate Heritage Unit as well as the GoRail and 9-1-1 First Responders Unit. Bill Kalkman and I caught our first glimpse of NS 8105 coming under the signal bridge at Duncannon.
After having our fill of 8105 we headed for Newport, PA to catch the GoRail Unit leading 26T. Here we see it passing 23Z and the signals at MP 131.
Had to dig up some old photos and came across this one, NS 52A heads south at Green in some weak sunlight on 7/2/2010. Flash forward 7 years (has it really been that long?) and all 3 units are now on the NS roster and have received Crescent cabs. NS 8305 is the prototype for the failed D8.5 program and numbered 8500, 5972 is now NS 6963, the GoRail unit and 5957 is now NS 7001.

On a partly sunny afternoon, NS 17N disturbs the peace on the shore of Sandusky Bay in Danbury, OH as the GoRail unit leads the train to Elkhart, IN. The clouds stayed about five miles west, oddly hovering over Port Clinton.

NS Q44 thrusts out of a brief stop setting off helpers at Old Fort, NC. We're at the Parker Padgett Rd crossing with SD70M #2629, SD70M-2 #2762, and SD60E #6963, oh that one sounds familiar.
