Spotted this sitting in the afternoon sun on my window, must have been quite a hop to get up there :)

The curtains were less intrusive than I expected. In fact, they were integrated rather nicely. Their screen-like transparency was a nice complement to the multiple visual effects that resulted fromt glass surfaces
My good friend, Aaron's gnarly new piece of glass. Pretty sexy. Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 mounted on D700. Killer combo.
Forgot to change my ISO...Not too bad for ISO6400 ;)
D700 FTW.
Having got a new stained glass window, I became interested in all the old stained glass in our neighbourhood. According to the artist who made our window, London, Ontario may have more stained glass/capita than any other city in Canada. That is because there was a hardware store, going back at least to the 1880s, that specialized in it. The result is that many quite modest little houses have stained glass windows. On a couple of evenings I photographed about 20 different windows within 3 or 4 blocks of our house, and that was probably less than 1/4 of the number of windows I noticed. This image shows just a sampling.
My recent flurry (by my standards) of photos is one last sign of Flickr activity before we head north to Manitoulin in a week or so. Up there the only internet connection is a very slow dial-up line, so from then until the middle of September or so my posting and commenting on Flickr will be even less than it has been.
Closeup of the Large Glass Sculpture that sits outside the Westin Hotel in Downton San Diego. The Glass is a few inches thick and I do not know the name of the artist.
Cheap glass pipes smoking session can last anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour depending on how many join the smoking session. It is also pertinent to mention here that you should add the glass ash catcher to prolong the session. Visit www.pipesdaddy.com/
Glass shards scattered on the ground at Kasota Pond North. The area is frequently the site of illegal dumping.
There is so much beautiful stained glass at the cathedral - to be honest it is rather drowned out by the soaring architecture, though. It's easier to appreciate in photo form.
