Not sure why there was a display of Elton John memorabilia in the Oxford St Selfridges shop window when I visited back in March. These glam rock inspired platform boots were one of the star exhibits.

From Wikipedia, "Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is a British singer, pianist and composer. Acclaimed by critics and musicians, particularly for his work during the 1970s and for his lasting impact on the music industry, his music and showmanship have had a significant impact on popular music. His songwriting partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin is one of the most successful in history."

The flames would grow
And burn into the sky
We will light a giant burning fire tonight
We will light it and dance in the smoke
Every brand we'll tie somebody's worries to it
We will burn it and dance in the smoke
Just for fun and for anyone who remembers Argent. The keyboard player Rod Argent, formerly of The Zombies. Not forgetting "Hold Your Head Up" and "God Gave Rock and Roll to You". Just for fun and nostalgia.
There was another section at the Gatow museum that was dedicated to anti-aircraft and radar installations. Radar antennas are fun to photograph.
And the title of the album where it all goes in is of course no reference to the song by horrible Glamrock band Golden Earring but rather the Ministry cover version!

Uploaded for the Macro Mondays group - Theme = Lockdown Song.
This is a tiny section of a jacket that I have been known to wear at Glam Rock music events. I have also enjoyed exercise / dancing to a variety of 60s/70s music during lockdowns including Glam Rock. A particular song that comes to mind is Sweet - Ballroom Blitz.
Installment #3 of the Cheeky Chimera Collection-
As implied by the title, these earrings are dripping with a glam rock glittering excess that still, somehow, stays both classy and elegant. How miraculous!
In fact, these earrings embody my notions of a Cheeky Chimera: a fantastical monster composed of vignettes from dreams and waking life...
Each earring is unambiguously different from it's mate, and still clearly belonging to it.
Hammered brass wire is intermixed with freshwater pearls, rhinestones, Swarovski crystals, and glass beads, and several accent details from recycled costume jewelry.
Chains dangle from each earring, adding graceful movement and accentuate a slender neckline.
Though loaded with panache, the earrings are amazingly lightweight!

This is a digital work but I placed the circles one by one on a black
background. It took me quite a long time to finish the whole portrait...
I really like Lady Gaga's personality and imago. She has a beautiful mouth and I found a deep expression of nostalgia and fear in the purity of her eyes.
The original version of the above portrait is huge (over 10000 pixels wide).

The 2017 reunion show of the GNR-precedessor L.A. Guns at the legendary Whisky-A-Go-Go. One of the best concerts I have ever seen, and I managed to collect the original setlist and all the 3 guitar picks including the pick of Tracii Guns. I shot this one with my mobile phone. / A legendás L.A. Guns 2017-es visszatérő koncertje az eredeti gitárossal és énekessel a szintén legendás hollywoodi Whisky A Go Go klubban.

Photo Of An Exhibit At The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts:
Lou Reed: Caught Between the Twisted Stars
.... Legendary British rock star David Bowie, who framed hits such as "Ziggy Stardust" with daringly androgynous displays of sexuality and glittering costumes, has died aged 69 after a secret battle with cancer. A chameleon and a visionary, Bowie straddled the worlds of hedonistic rock, fashion and drama for five decades, pushing the boundaries of music and his own sanity to produce some of the most innovative songs of his generation .... As a kid in the mid 1970s, I first heard of David Bowie via my brother, Dave & his good friend Stu Heydon. Stu's brother, Stacy Heyden, toured and recorded as lead guitarist & vocalist worldwide with David Bowie's band, from January 1976 to December 1980 .... VIDEO "Space Oddity".... youtu.be/iYYRH4apXDo

"I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing 'til they got a hold of me,
I'd open doors for little old ladies, I helped the blind to see."
