This alligator was photographed in a canal at the Jones/Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area in western Martin County, Florida. See this, and more, on my website at tom-claud.pixels.com.
My mom asked me to get her a good shot of an alligator that she could hang on her wall. Pressure was on - I took so many pix of different gators - small, medium, big and bigger. This was my favourite and she likes it and wants it on her wall. There is a damselfly about to land on one of it's spikes. This is a species that I don't usually photograph unless requested :)

This was taken in the canal on Lee Road at Loxahatchee. I've never seen a gator's tongue before. Don't think he was too happy to have me so close.

I wonder what he's thinking, they always look so happy the way their mouth curves into that big smile!
Great Egret "hanging 10" (or more accurately 8) on an Alligator, Alligator Breeding Marsh and Wading Bird Rookery, Gatorland, Orlando, Florida. At Gatorland the Alligators are captive, but the waterfowl are there naturally as part of The Wading Bird Rookery. The birds love to stand on the backs of the Gators in hopes of scoring a turkey hot dog thrown by a visitor. The birds are smart enough to stand on the non-toothy end of the Gators. I miss my fine feathered friends at Gatorland. I hope to be back there soon. This shot is from December of 2015.

I have dreamt of this shot for a while - this one was planned and hoped for. I knew wild alligators crossed that dirt road, from one side of the swamp to the other, because I had seen the gator trail and had missed them once before. So hubby and I woke up at 5am, drove almost 2hs to this remote WMA, in one of the wildest areas in South Carolina, and waited for them. It was frustrating when we got there, because we had just missed one crossing again, but we waited some 30 minutes, quietly… then one of them crossed and I got it! Woot! I was still celebrating and thanking God when another one crossed... then another…. and another :) It was a foggy morning, but lighting was lovely and the setting was perfect - I like it natural, I didn’t feel like processing this much.
gato que brincas na rua
como se fosse na cama,
invejo a sorte que é tua
porque nem sorte se chama.
bom servo das leis fatais
que regem pedras e gentes,
que tens instintos gerais
e só sentes o que sentes.
és feliz porque és assim,
todo o nada que és é teu.
