A mama gator hangs by her brood and will immediately come to their aid if she hears their distress call. Best not to mess with Mother Gator! Here’s a bucket-list image from the past of a little hatchling climbing aboard it’s mother’s head. (Alligator mississippiensis) (Sony a1, 200-600mm at 365mm, 1/200 second, f/10, ISO 1600)

Took picture of this guy in my neighborhood.

This is from a set of RAW files I made in 2013 but never posted or even processed. I was looking for an image to use in tomorrow's blog post and this scene works for what I'll write about, so I processed it for the first time this morning.

Found this handsome Mississippi gator sunning on Xmas day

Up close and personal, these gators were along the side of the dirt road. I go out of the car to capture these amazing creatures.

Taken a few weeks ago during a fishing trip to the Everglades (previously posted a different shot from the same day). The sort of high-key effect is due to the harsh light conditions.

"There's a gator in the bushes, Lord, he calling my name."

Last of the NYS&W stack trains, HAN-2 rolls toward Vernon, NJ after an early spring snowfall covered the rails. A three piece variety of lease units power the days train.

Surrounded by myths and tales, the Solse Gat is a pit in the middle of the forests of Sprielderbos. Because of it's unusual shape, soil condition and location, it is rich of rare plants and species. As such, it is protected by Staatsbosbeheer.

Sometimes the gators swim into some orange water. Who can resist? (Alligator mississippiensis) (Sony a1, 200-600 lens @600mm, f/6.3, 1/400 second, ISO 1600)

A young alligator resting on a floating limb waiting for the sun to send some warmth his way.

This was the same gator as the one in the big boy shot. He was close enough that we could have reached out and touched him, a little disconcerting for a gator the guide had named Jumper.

An alligator showing off some seafood. Myakka River State Park, Sarasota, Florida

Exciting, easy to play, and a wee bit dangerous.

...3 meses y medio tiene y esta mañana junto a su mami que no sale en la foto decidió explorar un poco los alrededores...pero sólo un poquito al rato volvió a su lugar de siempre!!
