This fuzzy beauty is a wolf spider known as Acantolycosa lignaria. It has no common English name, but the Swedish one, stockvargspindel translates into "log wolf spider".

This is a female and typically, I see these either carrying an egg sac under their abdomen or with all her little spiderlings on her back.

The Atlas moth has a wingspan of 25-30cm and is amongst one of the largest Lepidoptera (Butterflies & moths) in the world. The early install caterpillars are covered in a layer of white 'fuzz' that gradually becomes less pronounced with growth, where the caterpillar appears more greenish.

This diurnal moth refueling on a heartleaf ox-eye (Telekia speciosa) is called Chersotis cuprea. It was quite unafraid of me sticking a lens in its face and kept probing the flower with its long proboscis.
