Chip in the morning.

Taken for Beginner's Daily Challenge: 'Bumpy'. My cat's brush tips in exterme close-up view. The lighting comes from a lamp at camera-right which one can see reflected in each tip (the center one shows it best) as well as the flash from my phone camera on continuous mode providing back light. The blue in the shadows is actually the case of my phone seen through the brush tines. The keen-eyed can see the camera lens from my phone in the top right corner of the picture.

This is an extremely well-engineered pedal, but I don't know that I'm its target demo.

It seems like a fuzz pedal for people who really hate dealing with fuzz pedals. It's got a ton of filters. A lot of those switches that I assumed were changing values in the circuit (like most fuzz pedals) are apparently engaging filters. Like the "Edge-Smooth" switch and the "Tone 60's-70's" switch both sound like RC or RLC filters. The "Tight" control sounds like a high-pass filter. I'm pretty sure the "Germanium-Silicon" switch is a filter, as well, because I don't see a germanium transistor in the pedal, but I may be missing it.

That said, it's a very stable pedal. I tried it with the Steinberger and the Tinsel Tart and it does the job great with whatever pickups you're using and cleans up with the guitar's Volume knob.

The Boost can be switched into an Octave Boost and it's really cool-sounding, but it's also really, really bright. Of course, there are three effects loops on this box, all of which are switchable internally for pre/post operation. There's one that engages when you kick the Fuzz on. There's one that engages when the Boost comes on. There's also one that engages when you bypass the pedal, so you could put something like a Tube Screamer in the bypass loop and switch between overdrive and fuzz just by engaging the fuzz. So an EQ in the Boost loop could even out the crazy going on there...but I don't own an EQ pedal.

Anyway, pretty cool stuff.

Old, but a valued member of our family. Except when she graces us with one of her special smells, then leaves the room!

We were told strictly not to take photos of Cubans in uniform, but not one to miss a photo opportunity I asked this guy if it was OK. He seemed a bit bemused, but agreed.

Eastern Fox Squirrel, in my western yard. I think it's been doing a very effective bird feeder route this winter. The majority of the squirrel sp I have seen in my yard the last few years have been Eastern Gray Squirrel - before that it seemed to be more Fox. Or maybe i only noticed them because of the huge size and vibrant color. Who knows. Both species are invasive in Oregon and mostly in the cities. Fox also settles in orchards. I doubt the orchard owners love this.

Practising loose with these little cat studies. The originals are a mess...not too much angst about result. Then playing in edit a little and create something between the doodle and computer.

I bought this from Fuzz. He custom painted it, and for me it has a value beyond words or money.

I gotta say - not only was the art perfect, the price was too.
