Actually a great design. The two outer red lights are big and bold and really grab your attention and let you know the light is red. The inner lights are green and yellow. They're all different shapes, too, presumably to help people with color blindness.

This is in Amherst, Nova Scotia, while I was looking for a unique-to-Nova Scotia donair (which is presumably reminiscent of the döner kebabs I had in Germany and the kebabs in Turkey and gyros in Greece). I did find one at a fast-food restaurant between the center of town and the highway, but I didn't like the sauce. I'm not sure if it was terribly authentic, though, so I may try another one next time I'm in the area.

this guy was playing many different flutes, one he even made himself using a ram's horn! it was totally enchanting listening to him play.. it sounded like one of those little mythological pan's (half goat half man) would play, quick bursts of high-pitched happy music.

and check out his foot.. it was tapping quickly with the beat!

Tonemapped HDR image from two exposures taken 2 stops apart. I was getting kind of disappointed that I wasn't able to get the mood I was feeling when I took these with the tone-mapping until I started going way out with the parameters. This image is so far from realistic (taken about 2:00 in the afternoon), but it felt more like what I was going for with the weird tree leaning over the path.

Normally I don't go in for the heavily processed look, but I thought I'd post this anyway.

The exposures were taken with a monopod, by the way. There was a third exposure, but I couldn't get it to line up with the others so I scrapped it.

Outside Funky Winkerbean's. East Hastings.

Here, I applied a Cutout filter from Photoshop. Who wants to see bathroom floor grunge, right? But I was completely charmed by the circular entrance to this original tiled shower. It was in remarkably good condition.

Check out the new Funky Chicken Coop Tour® Headquarters on April 19, 2014, at Sunshine Community Gardens, 4814 Sunshine Drive, Austin, Texas 78756. Enjoy a full day of free family and educational activities, including live poultry, educational booths, and a new speaker series. Don’t miss our keynote presentation: “Economic Impact of Austin's Food Sector - and the Importance of Buying Local” at noon!

FCCT has partnered with urban food groups throughout Austin to build a community that supports making healthy, local food available to everyone, including partnering with Keep Austin Fed for a community egg drive on Tour day.

The tour will have 14 coops, including both backyard and community participants. In addition to schools, a community garden, and a farm, a Community First! Village is on the tour. Visitors will see how collaboration between volunteers, artists, and the homeless—and formerly homeless--work to create the Genesis Gardens program.

Maps are $12 each and can be shared with everyone in your touring party. Create your own custom tour, on two wheels or four. You can join the Bicycle Tour de Funky Chickens, hosted by the Austin Cycling Association. Rides for various levels and distances will be available.

This year’s tour benefits the New Farm Institute, which is “working to inspire a new generation of sustainable farmers in the urban fringe.” FCCT in partnership with the Austin Permaculture Guild will create a food forest for our beneficiary. The tour is an event of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc. and welcomes your donations.

In November 2002 I went to Japan for my job, to help out American racers at a company-sponsored RC model car race (yes, that used to be my job!). While I was there I took about 600 pictures, roughly 380 of which are here.

Compared with the normal ones in the lower pod, those sure are some wacky beans. I couldn't bring myself to eat them in the end in case I did a poo a few days later and an alien came out.

These funky looking things are ashtrays made from cast iron skillets and other metal. I would love to have one of these, but I can't afford the $80 price tag.

My funky chicken that I did for a friend after she fell in love with a cow tutorial I had done. It unleashed an urge to create more crazy animals and it's kind of become my thing.

This modern building was going up along the enbankment of the Seine River. I can't recall exactly what it was but I think a museum of some sort.. possibly something to do with agriculture. If I find out more I'll come back and correct this. It was an eye catcher though

For Mims, really.
