Bruce Gholson is a studio art potter living in the Seagrove Pottery Community of central North Carolina.
Our functional art ceramic mugs are finely crafted. We pay extra attention to the details. The bottom is polished to a surface friendly smoothness, the lip of the cup is contoured to be pleasant to drink from, and the handle is backfilled at the bottom to fluidly fit the form.
This mug is made out of a smooth red clay body. The fossil fish is hand drawn with a white clay slip formulated especially for a crackled earth effect. Bruce's signature and "Bulldog" are inscribed on the smoothly polished bottom.

Handmade from a combination of wheel-thrown and slab-built techniques.
On the surface are original block print images that depict 2 bicyclists' ride though a small town ... there are houses, a courthouse, traffic lights, a water tower, and a row of shophouses as well ...
Another functional HDR shot proving another trig point visitation (#9 of 130) - although this had probably got a bit more going for it than the last one (not worthy of a frame though :)). FB number S1730.
This one is in Ashover, adjacent to Ashover Rock. I think it'll be worth revisiting this location in the future on a nice day as I reckon there could be some decent views.
This is another 'proper' HDR, blended and tonemapped in photomatix 3 demo (with watermarks cloned out afterwards... sorry photomatix people, I won't make a habit out of it). Sometimes I do think that photomatix tonemaps things a little nicer than DynamicPhotoHDR - more subtle sometimes. Horses for courses, I think. Depends on the original shots and what you're going for. Probably need to buy both.

Note that the amino acid always has the amine group NH2 (see Nitrogen atom and 2 Hydrogen atoms) at one end and the Carboxylic acid group COOH at the other end (see Carbon with 2 Oxygen atoms connected to it; note that one Oxygen atom has a double covalent bond and the other has one Hydrogen atom)

My "hyper-functional" sculpture is essentially a skateboard with a flip-flop attached to the top. The main "functions" consist of each wheel has its own individual function while remaining plain and sleek on the outer layer. The front right wheel is a smoke detector, the front left wheel is a small, but extremely powerful light that will illuminate the sidewalk while you ride and provides light on the go when the wheel is detached. The back right wheel is a powerful vacuum that vacuums as the board wheels roll, and the back left wheel is a small microchip-like operating system with Siri capabilities so you can safely search the web while rolling down a busy road. The flip-flop on the top is an extreme shoe-grip that insures the riders balance and ability to stay on while the board rolls down the street.
Teresa from IKEA in North York got creative with a TAJMA wall clock and added clothes pins so she can attach notes!
